We have been hearing about this place from several people since moving here so today we finally tried it. We ordered a 5 topping large pizza and the garlic knots. Unfortunately, it was not good. The pizza tasted like they just took tomato paste from a can and used it for the sauce. The garlic knots were so overloaded with garlic that they were almost inedible and they also did not come with any kind of marinara sauce. The other thing that was bothersome to me was that it was very cold and windy outside and the owners were in the restaurant, but we had to sit outside to wait on our pizza which took more than 50 minutes to get. The owners could see that we were there freezing and didn’t even offer to let us stand inside. This was very disappointing and we will not be back.

Debi, It was a pleasure meeting you, and I'm so happy you have kept your dad's food available to the public (especially his knots and pizza). My family has enjoyed it for so many years in Miami and up here since he opened up his restaurant. I was so happy when I found out you were keeping it going in Mars Hill. I would recommend Papa Nicks to everyone wanting great food.

Food is good and have been going for awhile. But I believe based on my appearance and outfit I was treated rudely for using the bathroom. We bought take out and then I decided to use the bathroom and was met with an unkindness that was very unnecessary. My boyfriend even tested the theory. He was not asked of his intentions when going to the bathroom. I am not 100% sure if it was the owner but will not be returning as it seems she/they only want your money if you look and behave a certain way.

Very friendly, and THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We got a large Delux pizza, Garlic knots, and a Greek salad! All GREAT! The bread was to die for! If we lived here, that would DEFINITELY be our go to for any kind of Italian food! And very reasonably priced!

We stayed in Marshall, NC for the week on Vacation. We got a large deluxe pizza, garlic knots and a Greek salad. The service was excellent...... but the food was most definitely a 10/10!!! 💯

Horrible experience. The man at the take out windows on October 2nd at 1pm was incredibly rude . Literally never coming back bc if that. Of you wanted to order food from someone who had a stick up their bum. Go to papa nicks! Lmao

All around mediocre pizza. The crust is very very bland and it’s overpriced for what you get.
Would not recommend, but it’s the only pizza place in Mars Hill so having no competition probably helps them stay afloat.

I dined in and found the atmosphere extremely pleasant and clean. When I sat down, I noticed couples, families, and singles like myself dining. I was waited on within approximately 2 minutes which gave me enough time to review the menu and order a glass of wine. It was hard to choose an entree because everything on the menu looked so good.I settled on the shrimp Alfredo which was outstanding! It was a generous portion and I enjoyed 1/2 the next day for lunch. I was very impressed with the food, atmosphere, and the wait staff. I’d have to say Mars Hill has a gem of a restaurant in that adorable little town.

We visit Papa Nick's every time we come up here. Food is fresh made and the garlic knots are amazing. You definitely won't have to worry about vampires! Staff is great and service is friendly. Portions are generous and prices reasonable. It's not a huge restaurant so I would suggest a reservation on Friday and Saturday nights.

My boyfriend and I have been loyal customers of this place for a long time, but unfortunately this last experience left us very disappointed. After eating here, both of us ended up with food poisoning. I called the restaurant to let them know — not to complain angrily, but to respectfully explain what happened and that it was our first time ever having an issue.
The woman who answered the phone responded with “I don’t know what to do about that” and immediately handed the phone off. The man who got on after her was extremely rude, saying “come back or don’t. Do what you want” before hanging up on me.
I went out of my way to be polite, emphasizing that we love their food and normally have great experiences here, yet that’s how we were treated as loyal customers. Very disappointing customer service, especially when all I wanted was to make them aware of the situation.

Our waitress was very nice. Every single chair had serious stains all over them. The chairs are fabric and with mysterious stains on them it was quite gross to sit on them. Both of our meals came out undone. The lasagna was served lukewarm so that the cheese on top wasn’t even melted and the chicken marsala was not cooked properly. The chicken was overcooked and was difficult to cut with a knife. The rest of the sauce wasn’t even cooked down. It seemed like they put it all in the pan for a couple of seconds to warm it up as mushrooms weren’t even cooked down. Won’t be returning.
