Bruegger's Bagels

It was clearly open and they left the door locked. One employee literally watched me trying to open the door and when I was walking to my car, another customer went to the door and they opened the door for them. It’s incredibly rude of them to do so.

It is my distinct honor to be named the 2025 Most Loyal Customer at Brueggers in Matthews. Rain, Sleet or Snow won't stop me. Whereas the 2nd place competitior has a lot of ground to gain before competing for the Golden Bagel in 2026. Thanks to all that voted for me since '96!!

I ordered, and paid for, 2 hash browns and only received one. When I tried to call, it was impossible to get through to them. It rang on and on. I am completely unimpressed. I wouldn't recommend ordering delivery from here because if they make a mistake, you wont be able to fix it unless you go in person maybe.

Don't bother choosing a bagel because they'll just put it on whatever they want. No labels so turkey sausage and pork sausage cant be identified once put on the wrong bagel. Cream cheese bagel was cut with a dirty knife and has residue of SOMETHING all over it. Really disgusting and a waste of money. I forget how bad it is and try ordering from here once every six months and it's been awful for 2 years.

It’s been a minute since I’ve been here, went to the counter to place an order by the bagel section. Nobody greeted me and I’m standing there just waiting for someone to say “next in line or hi how can I help you? Shop was empty. Until I said hello can I place an order for some bagels. There were about 5 guys near the bagel section just working and prepping online orders, not even looking up. One of the guys finally speaks and says you have to go to the cashier to place an order. That’s something new, haven’t been here about 1 year! However no problem, the heavy set man at the register with glasses- also didn’t greet me while he was bagging an item for an online order. So I just stood there waiting, no hello, or I’ll be with you in a second. Just a very dry demeanor and I’m thinking to my self if he’s the manager then I wouldn’t be surprise his employees will be the same way. I felt like I was an inconvenience to them! That’s an awful feeling to have as a customer who’s spending money at an establishment. Not sure what’s going on with this place!
Not to mention- I ordered half a dozen bagels, got home and there were only 5 bagels in the bag. Just sad at this point! Never coming back to this place, deleting my account with this establishment!

Dirty dining area and tables. Bagels are decent, but order was made incorrectly. Customer service at check out is a doozy. The older northern gentlemen likes to question how you’re ordering and mock what you’re requesting. Not surprised getting an incorrect order when he isn’t actively listening to it, but rather thinking of a smart remark to respond with. Don’t know if it’s sarcasm or not but at work isn’t the place to be condescending especially to paying customers.

One of my main spots to get bagels for me and/or my fiancee. She loves a classic bagel sliced with cream cheese, and I love any sandwich, but the farmhouse I think is the best. The people are usually friendly AND fast. The all star always seems to be Tyler though. He's always on it!

The bagels are good, the service is fast, and the regular employees are efficient.

I docked one star because the manager on duty (a gentleman in a black polo today at 945am on 24 Jul 25) needs food handling retraining. I’m glad he wasn’t filling my order. With gloved hands I saw him:
- handle his personal cell phone then handle a bagel.
- adjust his pants then handle food.
With bare hands
- touch his face to adjust his glasses then put on gloves and handle food.

He did not wash his hands replacements gloves between any of these instances. That’s like food handling 101. Wash your hands and change your gloves if you touch anything but the food prep you’re supposed to be handling.

These are the freshest and most flavorful bagels I have found in the Charlotte area. I particularly appreciate the fact that I can get peanut butter as a spread on my bagel. This location offers great indoor or outdoor seating options
