This restaurant once a staple of the culinary life of Mathews, offers a healthy dose of subpar Chinese garbage with a healthy dose of nationalism . I have been a patron of this restaurant for over a decade now. The new management team is awful. I have never been so embarrassed in a public setting. The service was indicative of a group of people who willfully disrespect American Culture. So sad.
For over a decade, this restaurant was a cornerstone of Mathews' culinary scene. However, recent visits have revealed a significant decline in both quality and service. The new management has failed to uphold the restaurant's previous standards, resulting in offerings that fail to meet expectations. The service was particularly disappointing, characterized by inefficiency and a lack of professionalism. Additionally, there were disturbing instances of racial discrimination towards Black, Native American, White and Latino patrons, which is unacceptable and deeply troubling. This evident disregard for cultural sensitivities and customer satisfaction left me embarrassed in a public setting. The decline in quality and the apparent racism are truly regrettable.

Had a call in and was a pretty big order. Was ready when we got there and had already added all our sauces with it. Have to say it was the best Chinese food we've ever had. Very courteous when we came to get it and will definitely be back!

We get food from here quite often. It’s a take out place. We like the food here, it’s always freshly cooked and fast.
This fortune could not have been more appropriate. Honey Chicken didn't have any sauce: honey flavored breading, but completely dry. The kids were so sad. The Pepper Steak was all veggies: very little meat. And I had to ask if they offered a Mongolian Beef dish, to which they said yes, but compared to the Pepper Steak it was exactly the same dish. And yes, it also was all veggies. So I bought 2 of the same dish with very little protein.I've been eating here for 6 years. The quality has been hit or miss, but this was so disappointing. It will be my last attempt.Nice people though. A good hustle during busy hours. They do seem to care. ...but I can't eat that.

The food was really good the one time that I ate here.More importantly, to me, it appears to be a small family business.One of the things I noticed, was one of the gentleman that was working there came out while I came in to check on the food and was helping his son do some school work.I seen lots of smiles, and lots of love, and that shows up in the food unquestionably !I am not supporting this place because they’re a small businesses because of the natural energy in the place, reasonable prices, fast service, and really good food .I just really like the energy. This place is a family owned business that puts a great deal of energy in family and that warmed my heart..I’ve only ate here once when I was working in the area and got it on the ride home, but the food was phenomenal .Good portions, and a very reasonable price.There’s also very good parking in the shopping center where it’s located.100% endorses placeI only ate here once, but it was really good and really good experience.
Kid-friendliness: From everything I observed it is a small family run business that has a lot of love.That goes a long ways with the man who is a father of five !Nothing more important or beautiful than your family !Thank you for being in business, China Cafe I hope you thrive and have more generations of success.
