I mean… top notch
It was my first time there. I loved their salted caramel mocha hot! I loved the cheese empanada! I wasn’t sure what cheese to expect … but they hit it on the nail. Steak fries… clutch

Unfortunately, we had to wait 5 minutes for our coffee order because the only one who knew how to operate the espresso machine took a large phone order before she made our order. Then the extra hot latte came out luke warm and had to be remade. We usually get better service than this.

My cousin and I went here for a late lunch and it was fantastic. My chipotle chicken panini was perfect. Cajun bistro chips and steak fries were amazing. As was the green sauce we were suggested to try by the girl who brought our food. Sweet tea was on point. 10/10 will absolutely return (sorry for the half eaten sandwich pictures lol)

The Bacon, egg and cheese empanada is made with powdered eggs; I found it inedible.
The Cuban Empanada is served luke warm, cheese not melted. When I asked server about it, he said it is not served as a hot item.
Disappointed for our first time visit.

This place is so cute! Really good portion sizes and the breakfast sandwich was so good. Prices are reasonable.

Place is very nice and spacious, but I wouldn’t go there for food, only for coffee. I paid $18 for cheese sandwich with addition of grilled chicken and it was literally bread with cheese and chicken. Cut and dry and distasteful

This place looked cute, but the Brown Sugar Cinnamon latte tasted awful, all artificial gross that I can't finish it. The apple danish is moldy, nor was I offered to get it warmed up. I would have asked for a refund but I was just passing through and took it to go.

I stopped by Collective Café in Matthews and really enjoyed the experience. I ordered an iced tea and a cheese quesadilla.
The vibe of the café is really nice lots of people working on their laptops, so it definitely has a remote office kind of energy. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for a chill place to work or just unwind with some good food and a drink. I’d definitely come back!

Yes, that is literally a massive cockroach..
I felt violently sick after seeing this…
When I complained to the manager/owner, he didn’t seem to care and just tried to give excuses rather than giving any form of apology or even offering any free anything as a gesture of Goodwill and apology…

Overall this cafe is good. The food is good, the prices are reasonable especially for the portions. I took one star away because it was disappointing that one person in my group couldn’t eat because they have a tree nut allergy and this business stated they could not guarantee cross contamination. Also, if ordering coffee specify if you would like it hot or cold.

Really wish there was a gluten free bread option.
