This is the best Spanish food in charlotte and the only authentic Puerto Rican food I have found in the area. I only wish they had pasteles but maybe it will come seasonally menu😭.

If you are looking for an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant, El Cilantro is it. They have all of the traditional foods: Empanadas, Acapurias, Rice and Beans, Monfongo/Trifongo, Pork, Steak dishes. Been in the area for a month, I have come a few times and have not been disappointed.

Unfortunately, the food was very underwhelming. The beans tasted like they came straight out of the can with no seasoning, and this was consistent across three separate orders. The churrasco, pulpo, beans, and rice were all noticeably bland. There was only one server handling the entire floor, so the wait time was long and service was understandably slow.
The only highlight was the parcha juice — definitely a 10/10. Refreshing and delicious! But overall, the food experience didn’t meet expectations.
