Good food and service
Had the bi bin bob & an order of 3 Mando. It was rly good even tho it's the kinda place that serves sodas by the can. It was interesting having the default utensils be some chopsticks & a spoon.
Fish cake was lit.
Thing me n my buddy thought was wild was how half the menu was cheap - $10 to $12 - & the other half was $20+
So much good food! My family and I love this place. Its a store with a restaurant inside. No matter what you order, it's excellent!
Has been my go-to place for kimchi, but the older woman who runs the register most days is extremely rude and clearly doesn’t care about being helpful at all. She’s always complaining to customers (about other customers or the work she needs to do). Their inventory has been lacking for a while but I still came to support rather than going to Super G Mart, but this woman is the reason I will not come back. I hope the owners replace her with someone else.
Stumbled upon this little shop by chance — what a hidden gem! From the outside, you’d never guess how much it has to offer inside. In Charlotte, it's hard to find places that carry Asian groceries apart from G Mart, but this place has a surprisingly good selection for its size. The staff are friendly, the prices are very reasonable, and I’m so glad I found it. Can’t wait to come back and try the restaurant inside next time!
Nice cozy family run Korean restaurant and grocery store. Don’t let its unassuming appearance from the outside fool you.
The restaurant was busy for a lunch on a Thursday. Service was quick and attentive. We tried the seafood pancake, a pork dish, a beef dish and the rice cakes. The seafood pancake was incredible and the pork had the right amount of spice. Very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend and will be back!
The grocery store area is expansive and features a wide assortment of Korean food, beauty, and cooking products; including Korean ingredients such as crushed red pepper powder and potato starch in large sizes.
This is truly a hidden gem in the Matthews area and highly recommend to anyone who loves Korean food or is curious to try it.
My “ex-kitchen” before moving away from Matthews.
I have known the owner, both of her daughters, both of her son-in-laws, and her grandkids personally.
This is the restaurant inside the grocery store—I would say this is a very smart move, since they can eliminate the usual issues which regular restaurants would run into from supply chain, etc..
I have witnessed the expansion of the restaurant, its growth, and much more. Very happy and proud of them.
Food is just like what typical Asian moms would make for their family.
Price is still very reasonable, considering the rising food prices.
Highly recommended and if you happen to stop by, please let them know “Vanessa&Emma” say hi! Thank you!! 😊

The best Restaurant in Charlotte !!! Authentic Korean cuisine!!! This place will go toe to toe with any Top Tier establishment in Charlotte!!! I should have taken a before picture but I totally forgot too but as you can see we polished off the 3 dinners !! Camsanida!!! Thank you Pepero!!
Good, authentic feeling Korean. I’m not familiar with this type of food. Came in expecting a lot more spice and flavor, but everything was mild. The veggies were fresh and delicious. The rice was sticky and good. The meat was basic. Our waiter was wonderful. We enjoyed walking around the store after dinner.
Modest eatery with a nice selection of authentic Korean fare. Friendly staff and decent prices, great family vibe along the lines of having a great meal in their home. No frills, just really good food. Enjoy!

I had an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience at Pepero Korean Market and Restaurant. As soon as my boyfriend and I walked in, the woman at the counter directed a male employee to follow us around the store. It was painfully obvious he pretended to price-check items that already had visible price tags and tried to make it look casual, but it wasn’t. The moment we turned to leave, he abandoned the act and tried to follow us again.
It was clear we were being racially profiled, and it ruined what could’ve been a nice visit. No customer should feel watched or unwelcome just for walking through the door. We will not be returning and urge management to train staff on treating all customers with respect and dignity.
Great Korean food and great prices
Excellent service
Great food! Nice portions and friendly staff.
The little market attached to the restaurant has many items that I would love to try. However, much of the packaging is written in Korean, Japanese, etc.
Definitely a hidden gem.
It was an excellent find in Charlotte. I have been looking for a family style Korean restaurant. Excellent post-pandemic pricing. The soups are a bit on the salty end for me. Also, it can get busy on Friday night. Other than that I enjoyed my food, and bought some Asian groceries on my way out. Verdict: Will return!
