The double-fried wings with the Spicy GOGO sauce are truly exceptional, easily some of the best wings in Raleigh. The outside has that perfect, golden crisp, while the inside stays tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The Spicy GOGO sauce adds just the right amount of heat without overpowering the wings it complements them beautifully. If you haven’t tried them yet, you definitely should. I’ll absolutely be coming back. I even ordered them to go this evening, and they tasted just as good as when they’re served in the restaurant on a plate. That kind of consistency says everything. Thank you owner of Sono Sushi, the consistency of your sushi and chicken never fails.

I frequent a lot of sushi spots around the greater Charlotte area and this was by far one of the most mid yet most expensive I’ve been to. The atmosphere was great at first and I had high expectations, but the menus had broken plastic pieces that were actually a hazard. The food was alright but very bland and nothing stood out. The ramen was decent but the meat portions were extremely thin for nearly $20. Everything was overpriced for the quality. There were about five servers behind the counter, yet we were rarely checked on and had to wait to order more or ask for the check. We left with a hefty bill that I would expect at a truly high end sushi restaurant without the quality to match. Overall, too mid for the price and I wouldn’t return.

As often happens, we were craving something Asian, and ramen always hits the spot 😊

I had this place saved on my list, and it was relatively close, closer than other ramen places so we give it a chance~

Honestly, it was pretty, ummm… Okay (?) Our appetizer wasn't bad, and the ramen... well, the broth wasn't too bad either, but the pork wasn't tender, and it had an excessive amount of bean sprouts, which made it seem more like pho than ramen, in general nothing impressed or delighted us at all unfortunately like our fav ramen places 😕

Honestly, something we really enjoyed and appreciated was the small salad we had as a starter; it made us look forward to what was coming, but the subsequent dishes didn't live up to that initial small salad 🥗

It’s decent enough to eat because of the cold outside, but I wouldn't say decent enough to be a place I would go back to for ramen. Maybe their sushi is good, but since I don't eat sushi 🤷

Just average food, kinda expensive if you asked me counting the quality 💸

The food is good, but the tables are so close together that I ended up hearing the conversation at the next table more than my own. Eventually, it became so stressful that I couldn’t even enjoy the meal. Since it was dinner time, the service also felt slow—we waited quite a while for the extra utensils we asked for and even longer for the check.

Love love love this restaurant. If I could come here every weekend, I definitely would… We have been here several times now, we have had their appetizers, ramen, steak, bulgogi & sushi.
My top appetizers have to be Yellowtail carpaccio, gyoza and popcorn shrimp. It’s probably the best popcorn shrimp I’ve had so far. I pretty much always get the Teriyaki NY strip steak but the chicken Katsu is also good! My favorite two rolls are the Somi rolls and the Surf and Turf roll!!

I just got take out here for the first (and only) time. We ordered a specialty roll and basic tuna roll. First, they looked nothing like the pictures. These were the smallest size rolls I have ever seen at a sushi restaurant. Second, the tuna was wet and slimy with a bad smell. We both took two bites and threw it out. This is the worst sushi restaurant in Charlotte. I should have stayed with my favorite place, New Zealand Cafe .

Went to Somi for the first time tonight.

We started with a house salad, popcorn shrimp, and pork gyoza. All three were delicious.

My wife ordered the Chicken Teriyaki. Great portion size, nice presentation, good flavor.

I ordered the Chirashi box, which was an absolute great value. It features six different Chirashi bowls filled with slices of very fresh fish. Everything was delicious; the Toro melted in your mouth and the uni was very fresh.

Also had a Somi roll which had many great flavors packed into each bite.

Very happy with the quality of the food, and will certainly be back again.

Best sushi place for miles. We do takeout every Friday and love it every time. The selection is prestige, the service friendly and the quality, most important for sushi, is flawless. Highly recommended!

I’ve come here for years with zero problems, but today really changed that. If you're a party of 6, they automatically add an 18% gratuity, no matter how the service was. We were in and out in just 40 minutes and still got charged a $30 tip. No heads-up, no chance to adjust based on the experience. This has never happened before, and honestly, it feels like a slap in the face after being a regular for so long.

I enjoy smaller places, casual but with great food. it checks all the boxes for me. if you like larger louder and glitz this isnt it but the food is just as good if not better lol Somi has something for everyone including the kids. If you want healthy sushi the Blue Fiamond roll is my new fave and does not skimp on portion or flavor. My 8 year old got the Korean Spicy Ramen and loved it. Their ponzu is not regular ponzu, and anything fried, karaage, katsu, etc WILL be hot and crispy!

Somi Sushi absolutely blew me away! The food was fantastic — everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The sashimi course is an absolute must-try — top-quality cuts that truly melt in your mouth. The service was attentive and the atmosphere felt both cozy and refined. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for an exceptional sushi experience!
