You k is, it’s just not my thing. But it might be yours. Biscuits and gravy. (Yikes!) Eggs ok. Service efficient and friendly. Good for a large group on the long tables outside.

I visited The Flying Biscuit Labor Day weekend which alines with the Matthew's Alive Festival. I was fully prepared to wait for a table and have an extended wait for our food and beverages given the festival bringing thousands of people to the area but that was not the case. We were seated immediately (the hostess were great and very accommodating!) on the outdoor patio with a great view of downtown Matthews. Stacey, our waitress, was great! She was kind, funny, and never rushed us. Our drinks were delicious and food was great. Pricing was comparable to other breakfast spots and the option for a togo coffee was the cherry on top to a fantastic breakfast.

My party consisted of 3 adults and one baby. The high chair that was provided fit the baby well and was clean.

My partner and I normally love this location as it’s close to home for us, but at our visit today we felt very much discriminated against. We were finishing our mimosas after eating, and a guy who was not our waiter came over to tell us it was a busy Sunday and we needed to basically hurry and finish to leave so other ppl could be sat. We hadn’t even been there more than a hour. There were multiple tables that had been there longer than us, were also done with their meals but were not told to hurry and finish so they could leave (they of course did not look like us). Normally it wouldn’t be a big deal but there were MULTIPLE tables open for other parties that had been waiting and it appeared none of them were interested in sitting outside in the first place which is where we were seated. Not sure why we were the only ones rushed to finish but it did not give us a good feeling. We felt specifically targeted and we likely will not be back. Very disappointed in this recent visit.

Food is always good, unique items on menu. Service on last visit was sub par, waitress more interested in coworkers. The atmosphere is comfortable but feels cluttered.

I was delighted about a month ago to find out that The Flying Biscuit had a Matthews location.
I had two take-out biscuits and they were Wonderful!
I don’t always work in Matthews, but I did this weekend, and missed getting there in the morning, so I stopped by about 2:20pm on Saturday to grab a couple of biscuits to eat when I got home. The biscuits were still enjoyable!
The mngr was just going to “give them to me” but I insisted that he take $5.00. We had a pleasant exchange and I told him that I tell everyone that The Flying Biscuit had THE BEST biscuits.
Sunday, I did get there earlier, 9:30 am and the place was PACKED, as it usually is.
The mngr said, “Oh you came back!”
“Yep! I got here before work today.”
I paid for 2 biscuits, they gave me three and a coupon I could use later. The exchange was pleasant as it was the day before.
10:30am I went to eat my biscuits, and they were like Ellie Mae Clampett made them. Like rocks. Dry, hard and not flakey at all.
I brought them back at 2:30pm for a refund, and I said to the mngr, “don’t make me submit a bad review.” (I wasn’t going to)
This is when he got ugly with me, drilling me with “what time did I eat them” (an hour after I purchased them) told me that people make mistakes and I said I used to work at McDonalds and they have an expiration time to sell specific items. These were clearly day old or reheated.
He said, “You just go to McDonald’s and get your biscuits.”
I’ve worked in the restaurant industry and very fine places in the past, and he could have just addressed it differently, “Thanks for bringing it to our attention, I’ll let the service and cooks know.”
But, no. He took it all personally, so here I am, to WARN people that they need to check for “freshness” status of their order so that you don’t duped with “leftovers” that have been sitting around for a while. Especially, take-out orders.
Apparently, The Flying Biscuit biscuits are only good within the hour according to our exchange on Sunday.
I waited too long to eat them.
I’m sad that it came to this.
And I’m also sad to say, that if The Flying Biscuit has managers like this, they can forget about opening a Flying Biscuit in Concord, NC.

First time at this location. Incredible customer service.. Especially a manager named Michael. They seem to be appreciative of their customers. I visit this chain all the time and have never had such a great experience. Food was great too!

a friend and I got (excrlldnt!) coffeehouse, in a pleasant low light atmosphere, wood tones etc. Not knowing, we stayed past closing. and they let us be as they cleaned up after their day. The partly covered patio is pleasant and spacious - for a cooler day!

Slow service. Cold food( breakfast) which is really hard to screw up. Atmosphere is fine. Location is fine.
