This place is definitely worth a visit!! Sushi is one of our favorite but hard to find a good place. This place checks all the boxes. Food- I think my rolls were Spider, Hibachi beef and Miru Mountain and they were sooooo good! My fiancee ordered a bento box and the meat was very good and tender. The service was great, the staff is very welcoming and attentive. The presentation was beautiful and price is very reasonable. The atmosphere is nothing pretentious, is on the darker side, more light would be nice. We will definitely be back! Enough parking right in front of the restaurant, so that is a plus!

This location is right outside downtown Matthews. It is one of the few locations there that have plenty of parking.There is a lot of selection here that provides a large serving size. You definitely get a large portion size for the cost.The service is really attentive here. You'll never worry about a long wait to order or for a refill.The food is also extremely good. The bento boxes are a great option to get a variety of options with your meal. The sushi is made fresh and have many options. I like to order the chicken hibachi with my bento box. It makes a great selection.This is a great dinner option and you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I visit this establishment many times. We had family and friends visit from out of town and decided to have them visit the restaurant. One of my guest indicated that she did not like the roll she had because of an excessive amount of cream cheese. I brought it to the attention of the wait staff, and she in turn had her manager to deal with the matter. Needless to say, the manager was NOT accommodating. She tried to offer 10% off the bill. I explained to the manager that this was a family member visiting from out of town and I wanted her to leave happy. Well, the manager was not willing to work with us. Bascially, UNAMI lost 2 faithful customers due to poor customer service. I definitely will not patronize this establishment again after spending $100 plus dollars for a horrible experience!

Great place, fast service and delicious sushi. We had Carolina sushi roll and lobster hibachi plate. The lobster hibachi was enormous, and sushi was great! Also, would not have to wait for the table, which was the great as well.
