Yanni is very personable, kind and very engaging. His coffee is the best I've ever tasted and I'm 81 years old! If you like vegan or gluten free, he has a very impressive menu. I've only had his breakfast of scrambled eggs , bacon on a bagel with his amazing cappuccino, but it was all very, very good! My wife and I both enjoy coming to Yanni's!

Rarely do you find a spot in Matthews that showcases a chef’s passion for food but Yanni Bistro is an exception. I eat here for lunch about 4 times per month and greatly appreciate the chance to eat healthy while enjoying food with delicious flavors. For the first year or so, I always thought of it as a high end sandwich cafe and varied my selections from only that side of the menu. It was not until a few conversations with Yanni in early 2024 that I ventured into his pasta and salad selections. Wow- the quality of ingredients, along with the superb preparation of proteins like salmon is unmatched. This is where Yanni Bistro rises above other choices to dine. If you have the chance, and Yanni is not slammed in the kitchen, take a moment and ask him about his culinary background and for insight into his menu. You’ll see why the food tastes so good. 100% dedication to perfecting dishes. Is it the cheapest lunch in town, no, but it is a reasonable price to pay for the level of food you are getting. I always leave feeling full but never like I’ve over eaten like some made to order lunch spots. I would highly recommend Yanni Bistro to all fans of good food!

I was looking forward to this place but was somewhat disappointed. It’s located in downtown Matthews. Has a lot of potential with great location and parking. However, the vegan options are very simple, portions are small and it’s too pricey for what you get.

Hidden gem (supposedly) in Matthews NC. Fantastically tasty Mediterranean food with excellent vegan options. I love quinoa but never had mine taste this good. Please go here and support!

I got the prosciutto panini and my girlfriend got the turkey panini. SO GOOD!! We each had to steal bites from each other because we couldn’t decide which one was better! Yanni and his staff were very friendly and helpful. Other than the sandwiches, there are some really cool food options on the shelf that I was able to check out while our sandwiches were being made. Lastly, the interior design and vibe of this place is really cool. This place is a hidden gem that I’m glad to have discovered!
Cute bistro on the side of White Duck Taco. Service was overall really good. My issue is chef refused to add goat cheese to my order bc it would change flavor. Sir...let me make grown- up choices. He was very nice but adamant about flavor. Chicken add on was a tad dry but nice presentation. Great for vegans or vegetarians.
