Bring your patience, but it's worth the wait. We waited about 45 minutes. Mom had smothered pork chops, mac and cheese and cabbage. I had fried fish, mac and cheese and green beans. We shared a small gumbo. Atmosphere is very friendly. People were from all over after the blurb on Tarheel

My parents heard about this restaurant on Tarheel Travelers and we decided to check it out during lunch today. We were not disappointed! We dined in and still left with so much food. The sweet tea was huge and DELICIOUS! The fish was hot and well seasoned. The yams, string beans and mac and cheese were so good! We had walnut cake for dessert.
