Great lunch and service. Towards the end of our meal we met the head chef, David Phillips. He was most accommodating and talkative with everyone especially my friend from New Orleans. I highly recommend enjoying yourselves at The Legends at Tryon Equestrian Center

Have good experience eating at Legends in TIEC. They're dependable, wish the place was larger.

Outstanding food and attentive service. There was a bit of confusion about an advertised special and Chef Phillips came to our table to explain and assure us he would 'make it right'. He went above and beyond. The food was creative and delicious. The duck confit was served on a sweet potato hash cake that married well with the slightly spicy sauce piquante. The sea bass was cooked to perfection and served with a potato pavlov that was somehow both firm and creamy. The starter, a chilled melon soup, was refreshing with a mild heat and dessert, a generous creme brulee, had just the right amount of sweetness and crackle. He even let us sample a granita recipe in development. Once he learned we shared time in south Louisiana, he sent us home with a little lagniappe - his amazing, authentic, dark roux, gumbo. We could not have asked for a more delightful anniversary dining experience.

I enjoyed the location and the experience at the Equestrian Center. It was a hot day so the drinks went down fast and easy.

Legends Grille in Tryon, NC is a gem! Spotlessly clean, it’s like they hired a ninja janitor who never sleeps. The food? Legendary—each bite is a flavor party that your taste buds RSVP to immediately. The vibe is so cool, you half expect a cowboy hat to tip you as you walk in. Service is as friendly and attentive as your grandma when she’s making sure you’ve had enough dessert. If you want a place where great food meets great fun, Legends Grille is your go-to. Warning: you might leave with a food coma and a smile!

This used to be my favorite restaurant to spend time with my husband and friends until our last visit May 16, During our dinner a group of guests came inside with their LARGE dogs (4 total) and was sat next to our table, while some people may not mind eating with animal hair flying around, I personally do not. None had service dog tags/vest. I feel they should have been seated in the outdoor screened in area. It's very upsetting because I have supported this restaurant since the day it opened! I will not be back.

The table was ready as soon as we arrived for our reservation. The food and our server Lindsey were great. She was able to answer and question we ask. Will go again!
Friendly staff; great manager conscientious about each guest experience. He speaks to each guest and eagerly fills in the gaps when busy to maintain the high quality service
Sooo… I’m a resident of Rutherford County, Lake Lure to be exact. This was my first time to go to the Equestrian Center for any reason. I’d been hearing good things about the restaurants and shops there for a few years, since the center was built. It was my husband’s birthday and I was looking for somewhere nearby to take him to dinner. Was looking for restaurants in Tryon and because of the name, this popped up first. I saw that Legends Grille had a 4 course menu available, that sounded tasty and was affordable. So I booked a reservation.
We used Google maps to get there, having never been there before. And Google maps took us to a road in that was blocked by a gate, no access. So, I switched to Apple Maps, same thing. So, we had to just figure out on the map how to get to the restaurant. Completely winging it once we were in the complex, as there wasn’t much lighting, directional signs or even lines on the road. Once we got to where the map said the restaurant was, we didn’t see any sign for the restaurant. We saw a market/general store and a different Italian restaurant. So, we asked in the Italian restaurant for directions. They pointed next door to a building that was only very slightly lit from within, no big sign or lit up sign saying the name of the place. Only a little a-frame hand written sign that said “open”. Once we found the door, we saw that there was a neon sign above the door showing “Legends Grille” but it wasn’t illuminated. So, we walk in, 7:15pm, and there are only a handful of people inside. We do realize it’s the slow season for our area, so we don’t think much of it. We’re greeted and seated. We’re asked for our drink order. I peruse the wine list. While neatly broken down into the different types, there wasn’t any information about where the wines were from or their vintage. So, I asked the server if she knew. She said she didn’t know, as she was new there herself. But that she would go get the expert. So, she brings out, who I presume is the bartender, and he doesn’t know anything about the wines offered either. But, since there were only 4 Pinot Noir’s listed, he offers to bring the bottles out for me to choose from. Okay, great! So, he brings them out and I’m able to then see where they’re each from and the vintage. I was somewhat shocked to see La Crema priced at $70, when it can be purchased at the local Ingles for $15-$20. We ended up choosing an Albert Bichot from France, for $65, which was priced a little more than double what you could get it for online. It did turn out to be a great tasting wine. When the wine and glasses were brought to the table, another server came with our server to show her how to open the wine bottle and the process of giving a taste for confirmation before serving. Which, was fine, because you gotta learn somehow. With the wine choosing finally out of the way, we chose our courses. The courses came out in a timely fashion and were for the most part, tasty. They missed the mark on the crème brûlée. The flavor was right but the texture was off. But, they did sing happy birthday to my husband and had a candle in his crème brûlée for him to blow out. Overall a good experience. Few suggestions: expand the wine list to show where the wines are from and between courses, only replace forks instead of bringing entirely new, napkin wrapped silverware sets to the table. Make sure the sign above the door with the name is working so it’s easier to find.

I met a friend for dinner last night at Legends. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli, made without the crab for me, and it was absolutely amazing. My friend said that the steak on her salad was cold but overall she enjoyed her dinner. Our food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen but our waitress did a great job of attending to us even though she had multiple tables assigned.
