“This is where you feel like you're so far away from the rest of the fast paced world. You walk in and you are immediately greeted with a wonderful "Howdy" and treated like you are the next "Super Star" to walk inside this miniature Super Store! With more home-work & equipment supplies that you can imagine, there are lots and lots of every day supplies not to mention, wall coolers that are stock filled with more varieties of drinks and so much food and snacks to select trom too.I think the biggest thrill was to try "Champs Chicken." An integrated full service kitchen and seating restaurant inside Marathon Station! Make sure you go before 3:00 PM as closing time for Champs is right then! Their homemade bone-in fried chicken tastes marinated and has a delicious fried crust; very flavorful and worth the try I think. I know that I will be back again to this Champs Chicken and Marathon Station at91 NC-Rt 9, Mill Spring, North Carolina 28756. What a great experience.”

“I had the Margherita pizza and it was honestly one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust, sauce, cheese, and fresh basil were all excellent. I sat at the bar during a pretty busy rush, and while the pizza and a couple of drinks took a little while to come out, it looked like they were short staffed and doing the best they could. The bar service was still good, and everything was worth the wait. The atmosphere was really nice too, with a rustic and comfortable feel. I had a great experience overall and would definitely come back.”

“When they are open, this a great place to be. Nice draft beer selection and decent liquors. Seating and shade could be a bit better but overall a great place for a cool beverage.”

“I frequently visit Boujee Bowls when I am at Tryon International. Riley is a beautiful young woman with a great smile who greats me regularly. Riley is professional, kind and never disappoints with her smoothies and bowls. She is a hard worker and I recommend coming in to see her and trying one of their farm to table options!

“I met a friend for dinner last night at Legends. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli, made without the crab for me, and it was absolutely amazing. My friend said that the steak on her salad was cold but overall she enjoyed her dinner. Our food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen but our waitress did a great job of attending to us even though she had multiple tables assigned.”

“Stopped by just before closing & had a delicious piece of gf Lemon cake. My husband had the gf fudge brownie, also wonderful. We were very impressed with the owner Bailey. We own a couple of independent similar cafes so we can appreciate the amount of effort she puts in to her cafe. I don’t know how she does it but the made from scratch goodies & cappuccinos were top notch. We plan on going back as much as possible!”

“By far, the best wine experience I have had in N.C. I am not a wine connoisseur but I do know what I like, as well as just enjoying the experience. The property and sitting area is picturesque. My wife and I stumbled upon the elevated tasting and it was amazing. They have 2 different flights to choose from. We each got one so we could try everything. The owner’s son chatted with us and we learned about the property and how his family came to be there, and then Eric guided us through the wines. He was obviously knowledgeable, but also took his time and we were able to enjoy conversations with him. The flights were only $40 a piece and a fantastic value. I felt the wines were much better than the one we usually have closer to home in the Yadkin Valley. Most importantly, the overall experience was the best we’ve had. I could recommend it more.”

“Guys there is no better place to get a sub, specifically due to their bread. It's actual bread!! Most places like to use the soft, doughy, 3/4 of the way baked type bread, but not Side Street. It actually has a crust! Get your subs here if you are person of substance that dislikes raw bread!!”

The orange marmalade and the orange slice on the thick toast made the perfect dessert. Service was fast and friendly. I Can’t wait to take the grand baby for ice cream. 5 stars for sure.”

“My family of six picked up some treats on our way to hike. The honey pistachio cake, blueberry pop tart, triple chocolate cupcake, chocolate cookie and baguette were INCREDIBLE! And prices were reasonable. I wish we lived closer but we’ll be making the 30 minute trip again soon!”
