Came from NY for a week. Found this place, and I can not tell you how the food makes you feel. Pure Heaven. You DO NOT get this up here. The staff is GREAT, talked tattoos, and always made sure we felt at home. Sweet Tea was off the charts. I would pay for the chopped BBQ in bulk to have to shipped North. If you don't stop and eat, you are missing out on one of the GREAT wonders of the world.

Consistently good food. Great staff / family running the restaurant. Highly recommend you give them a try. Cheeseburgers, BBQ and chicken philly are among my favorites - not to mention fountain Cheerwine and some of the best sweet tea!

Fast and friendly service! This hidden gem in Mocksville has the best barbecue in town. Their red slaw is amazing and the banana pudding is so delicious!
Parking: Plenty of spaces, more around back if needed.

It had been a long time since I have been to Deano’s, probably 2 years. So I accepted a lunch invite from a good friend of mine. Now Deano’s is a Mocksville landmark, been at the same location for 24 years. Never had a bad meal there. The place was neat and clean as usual. We were seated quickly and our order taken. I opted for the full-size barbecue salad with hush puppies. Mind you, the food is still good but I have something to say about the portions. My salad was a sad assembly of MAYBE 1/3 cup of barbecue, some iceberg lettuce, a few pieces of tomato and a few slices of cucumber. That was it. My first thought was: This is the full size? I’ve picked more food out of my teeth at the end of most other meals. Before I even tasted it I ordered their famous pimento cheeseburger all the way. I knew that salad was just enough to make me mad and not fill me up. The burger was excellent and don’t get me wrong, the salad was good too. There just wasn’t enough of it! I know that inflation is impacting restaurant portion size and prices. But all things considered, I’d rather pay a little more and get more on my plate.

Just recently started working in Mocksville so I have been trying out new local places. I was very impressed with the service and the food. Plus it was super quick which is nice when you are on a time limit. I had the bbq plate. The hush puppies were so good! It’s hard to find places with vinegar based sauce but they had it and it was good! I will be back!
