I got a plate of Barbacoa with rice and beans, and it was flavorful. Also grabbed 2 pieces of chicharron and again this was great. Will return for another round a bit pricey but worth it for the authentic flavors

This place has great carnitas. Only thing I have had better was the South side of Chicago
I was in town for only a week and tried many Hispanic restaurants in Monroe. This was by far the BEST! In fact, now it's one of my favorites nationwide! They are very friendly and welcoming. The barbacoa is tender and moist and their tortillas are made fresh. If you're traveling to Charlotte, make sure you visit Carnitas Barbacoa!

I had previously given this location a four star rating on a different visit, but recently I went and the pork meat(carnitas) was disappointing. When I arrived at home and ate the meat I was unsure if they had a new cook or if the meat was spoiled. I had to throw the meat away because I could not eat it, there was something very wrong. The tortillas were great, the pico de gallo and the beef bbq(barbacoa) were all good. This was sad because I had spent $20 on just the 2lbs of pork meat that was trashed.
