I discovered this place by accident, decided to stop and am so glad I did. The owner was courteous, and my huevos rancheros salsa was rich with some kick. Great little Mexican restaurant in the heart of Monroe outside of Charlotte.

El Texano is located at Five Points' intersection in Monroe. The restaurant is small inside with booths and tables along with sitting outside. I went there with a co-worker for lunch. We sat down and were greeted by the waitress who took our drink orders and also served us chips and salsa. We ordered the guacamole dip. It was absolutely made to perfection. It was freshly cut up avocado with chopped onions and diced tomatoes served with chips, delicious! I had beef burrito with beans. It was a huge flour tortilla with beef and cheese rolled up with melted cheese and red sauce put on top. One burrito is enough. It will fill you up. The other order was a taco, enchilada, and beans. Once again, the taco and enchilada were filled with beef. Everything we ate was freshly made and tasted ? delicious. The waitress was always checking on us to see if we needed anything. Amazing food and great service. Will definitely go back, but next time, try breakfast.

This restaurant has the best Taco Salad I've ever had. The sauces are amazing. The shell is puffy and home made. The ingredients are superior. I've gone with friends who love the tacos, but I am a fiend for the taco salad. It is very comfortable and pleasantly decorated. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Parking is easy.
