My husband & I have been eating here for over 30 years. Today we were very disappointed. First they didn't put my husband fries or my baked potato in our order. When I called they all but call me a liar! The 2 women I spoke with were both very rude and acting like I was being unreasonable to want my full order. I doubt we will ever return to this restaurant!! My husband told me they have new owners. I believe it!!

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and has always been a favorite. Portion size has always been more than enough. However, a week ago, we got a to-go order, and the portion sizes were very noticeably smaller…about half the regular size at best. Figuring it was just a fluke, we went there tonight for a birthday celebration with our whole family. If I said the portion size was 1/3 of what it has typically been, it would be conservative. It wasn’t even close to a senior portion (which I used to get, since the portions were so large). I spoke to the manager, who was apathetic at best, and asked him directly if the portion sizes had changed in the last few months. He instantly told me no and seemed much more interested in going back to his office in the back than having a conversation. We did have a very good waitress, so I asked her about it. Her response was, “You definitely are not the only ones to complain…It’s all been since we got new management.” We’ve been going to this restaurant since before it was at its current location and have seen plenty of management turnover. Just a case where we’ll have to wait this one out. My guess is that it won’t take long, since this restaurant is literally in business because of its regulars and they just lost some very long time customers.

Great experience! Been going to this place for a few years, still feels like its a tradition in Old Monroe! Good place to bring your family, and to have a nice time. Great for party reservations, or just for an occasion too! Very friendly environment!

Starting trying to call order in at 6pm while driving through Indian Trail kept being put on hold finally someone took other as I was turning into parking lot of Mayfare. Parking lot was half full and no one in Togo line. Person who took was very inexperienced. I went over with her 3 times. Was supposed to have broiled flounder plate with bake potato and side of baby shrimp. She even called order out to me. I should checked order so I take responsibility for not doing that. When I got home my entree was right but had no shrimp and extra baked potato. Called and was told I needed drive back bring potato and pay difference to get my shrimp. I was not interested in traveling back. I was told to keep potato fresh and bring next time I was there and pay difference for shrimp. In other words they offered no type of customer satisfaction fur their mistake. Food that I received was terrible and overpriced. Customer service is something that has always been lacking. Apparently employees are not replaceable to handle customer issues and owner has been rude I’ll never visit here again except to pick up refund for potato that didn’t but was charged for. It’s not the money it’s simply the principle of how I was treated

Service 5 stars. The young man that served us was AMAZING. He was on top of everything even though he was working alone. I have no complaints. I wish I would have gotten his name. He was outstanding.
Food 2 stars. I’ve eaten here a few times and I do not care for the food. I only come to be with my family. I got the deviled crab and flounder (salt and peppered with extra salt and pepper) the founder had no taste even with the extra seasonings. The deviled crab has no trace of crab. It reminded me of stuffing. It’s mostly a bread filling. The hush puppies were greasy. My food was $20 for 1 deviled crab and one small piece of founder. If you like bland seafood this is the place for you.
