Chef salad is just a pinch of lettuce, that taste like water and dirt, sprinkled real sparingly across a paper plate with Italian dressing tomatoes and cheese for $NINE DOLLARS. They don’t have eggs ? The waitress had to check menu to see if a chef salad comes with meat was about to charge extra ? maybe if they actually knew what they were serving it would taste better. Feels like a rascist outdated hole in the wall. Don’t get me started on the NASTY HOT DOGS. Maybe they need to be served actual hot dogs to know what they are supposed to taste like. Hot dog comes with only mustard and slaw can’t even taste the ketchup and if u want chili then that means ask for a chili dog instead. The chili is the nasty mushy beans fake kind that comes out of can like Hormel bland flavor. This place nor the people have a welcoming vibe. The workers stare and talk about you the whole time you are there and even the OWNER ! They do not take cards (Cash only, probably white pies only too! Smh) and someone should rob them how they rob us of our money. No quality and overpriced nasty food. The chocolate pie taste like do-doo. The best and only thing for sale here edible with flavor is the Carolina kettle chips !!! This establishment needs some soul. Also not clean, workers only wipe around condiments on table. Handprints all over wall by sitting booths not wiped down frequently

This place is steeped in old school tradition. It's all about the steamed dogs at a very reasonable price. The people are great and you will feel at home. It's not my kind of dog, but I get it and love to see a historical place taking care of people so well.

This is a little hole in the wall place that offers the American classics. The hotdogs and cheeseburgers! The food was great. service was decent. But the shop itself seemed old and outdated.

Amazing staff and the hot dogs are the best in town... it's so sad that I don't even know if they sell anything else. Because I only go for the hot dogs....

Being a true-blue Southerner, I love their hot dogs! Yes, they boil them in water, however, a lot of restaurants do this. Their slaw and chili are wonderful - so much so, I could just order slaw and chili and be happy.

Sooooo, I’ve been going to this famous hot dog shop for years and I asked 2 questions: why don’t you sell fries and will you ever take debit cards, when he responded NEVER, I knew this wasn’t the best place in my town.???

Since 1933 Oasis has been serving up their version of hot dogs, sammies, chips, and drink. Strictly cash and counter service, it's an icon smack dab in the 4-block social district commonly known as downtown Monroe.Today I ordered a dog with mustard and sauerkraut and Lori ordered a chicken salad sammie with a side of slaw. The good: the chicken salad was delicious and the hot dog bun was steamed. The just OK: dogs were boiled sitting in a big ol' pot of hot water. Nope. Grill 'em please. The slaw was bitter, unfortunately, too. It's hard to knock 90 years of success, so I'll I applaude all your efforts. However, just not my cup o' tea. Give 'em a whirl and judge for yourself.

Cash only. I ordered hotdogs with chili and mustard. They came with chili juice and a hint of mustard. Hotdogs were also barely cooked and not split. I came here because of their reputation as a hotdog place. I cook better hotdogs at home. My daughter's veggie sandwich came with slaw drenched in vinegar. No cheese. The two positives were that the banana pudding was good, and my daughter enjoyed the Russian tea. Customer service was not great. When I was told that this place was cash only (yes, I overlooked the sign), I told them I was going to an ATM and would be back. My daughter would take the food to a table, and I would pay when I returned. They didn't even work on my daughter's sandwich until I got back and paid with cash. I guess they thought I would abandon my teenage daughter over a $16 order. The interior was typical greasy spoon with diner furniture that has seen better years. I can only guess that they stay open due to local seniors who are looking for a cheap meeting place for lunch.
