I've been looking for a good pizza since I moved to the Charlotte area and have been sorely disappointed again and again. Happy to have finally stumbled across Johnny Tomatoes -- it's quickly become my favorite because it's the best pizza around, no question.

We thought the pepperoni pizza was bland, things were overpriced for the quality (nothing like up North pizza....), and the cashier was incredibly rude! She got a nasty attitude when we changed our minds to dine-in, although it was nearly empty, and told us to make sure that our trash, which was only what they gave us, didn't end up in their trash can?... We left and were very disappointed.
I’m a NYer who travels to NC often and in all my travels to various parts of the state: Johnny Tomatoes is the best pizza I have ever had! The staff is so friendly and they have the best customer service in Waxhaw! Try the cougar granny pie!

Went there for the 1st time, they weren't open to long, the food came out good and fast. Reminded me of pizzas from NY. The zeppoles were delicious.

I went here recently and I think that it is the best pizza anywhere around. I went to Joes pizza in New York which is supposed to be really good but I thought that Johnny Tomatoes was just as delicious. I feel that one of the closest contenders in the area taste wise is Brooklyn pizza which is very good but in my opinion not as great as Johnny Tomatoes.

Ate there for first time about a week ago and loved it. Food had generous portions (took quite a bit home for later meal), well priced, and everyone was friendly. Oh, and the food was delish! Had wings and more. Wing sauces were great--Carolina Gold was our favorite. And the wings were Jumbo sized--not regular sized small wings. Looking forward to next time we can go.
This food place consistently makes DoorDasher wait 5 minutes which is kind of annoying but at least it is food that takes 15-20 minutes to make so I understand

Omg this was amazing. If your looking for a new York style pizzeria this is the place to go. It is just like my favorite pizzeria from when I lived in central New York, feels like I am back home. I'll go back to this place weekly it's that good. The pizza is exactly everything you see as New York style pizza flavor, look and mouth feel. I got baked ziti to take with me to work and it looks sooo good I can't wait to dig in. Check this place out you won't be disappointed

This was the first time dining here. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! We had lots of different items. From the best pizza in town to the specialty salad, meatballs ( which were phenomenal ) pepperoni spirals and the sauce… perfect. I will be back over and over! Jennifer our hostess was wonderful as well! Hope you will open another location in Indian land. We need good pizza on this end!!

Easy and good pizza by the slice (everyone can get what they want, hurrah). They are family run and always very kind. I'm not a fan of the pasta we have tried, but my husband disagrees with me ?. They've recently expanded by taking over the next door store front, allowing for a lot more seating. With that, I really, really wish they would move away from single-use plastic and diningware for those dining in. It's upsetting to watch a single table produce so much waste- foam cups, plastic cutlery, straws, plastic ramekins for sauce. The plates are paper, so that works fine, but the rest should be switched to basic cutlery, reusable glass or plastic cups, and maybe stainless steel ramekins for sauce. I understand there isn't a work around for take out orders, but Johnny Tomatoes could reduce the large footprint it is making. They are well staffed, so I think this would potentially be manageable.
