The absolute highlight of the Cook? The staff. You will never find a more welcoming and down to Earth group of front house staff, even in your typical "higher class" establishments.
So if you want home cooking at a great price, in a comfortably country setting with 5 Star service, do yourself a favor and stop by the Skinny Cook and be sure to tip your waitress!
The waitress is there are really great they work as a team and you could tell that they run it professionally like they're supposed to instead of oh well that's not my section I don't want to help they literally asked all the people in there if they can help you. The food was really good. However at the price they're charging they need to give rice or potatoes with their country style steak or hamburger. Also they should offer more than one role. But I would recommend it to other people and I will go back.
Vegetarian options: They have a pretty good selection of vegetables not a huge selection but a decent one.
Parking: There were plenty of parking when we went however sometimes there is tight parking there's a lot of people that go there for lunch.
Kid-friendliness: Children are more than welcome there.
Wheelchair accessibility: It did have a place in the front for a wheelchair to get in however there is not enough room for the wheelchair to actually move around too good inside but they could make room.

I felt that the sanitation of this establishment was very poor. Such as... "Not discarding or removing items'' that were dropped on the floor and are now deemed as unsafe to the public health. Also, an employee took an open smoke break and resumed to his job without taking "any form" of safety measure (to ensure the overall health and welfare of the customers. Cleaniness is extremely essential to having a safe and healthy environment, that amazing food 'can not' substitute for the poor and inconsistent cleaning practices. Sadly, I will not dine with this establishment again.

Went to sit down and the leather on the booth was broken, not very comfortable to sit on. Then my son was given spoiled milk, hopefully he doesn't get sick.
Took my kids to the restroom and it was like going to a gas station bathroom, hasn't been cleaned in probably years. Oh, and no TP.
When I came out of the bathroom I realized how filthy the restaurant is as well. Service was great but I don't understand how this place is still in business.
Simple and delicious food! The service is great. Atmosphere is clean but old, which doesn't affect food or service. Would definitely go back.

As you pass the Skinny Cook, it looks like a hole in a wall restaurant, but it's much more. It's where you eat home cooked meals with family or friends. It's a well-known place by all locals in Monroe. It stays busy for breakfast and lunch. The prices are very reasonable, you can't beat it. I had lunch there and ordered the loaded tots and chicken wings. The wings were spicy but not super hot, just right. The loaded tots came with tons of melted cheese and bacon bits. Absolutely delicious ?.
