Went on Thursday evening. Our server was pretty new. That was not a bad thing! She was so thorough and helpful with everything. Our glasses were never empty. My sunglasses fell, and she got them for me without a second thought (showing she is a naturally good person). Wish I'd have remembered her name.
The only reason it's a 4 and not 5 star is because there was a man who kept going in and out of the kitchen, walking around, giving pretty bad creeper vibes. I guess he was family/owner... but if he would at least smile, maybe he wouldn't make people uncomfortable. The food was pretty good this trip.

This place is great I love the atmosphere and the service is awesome and the prices are very reasonable, I'm from Miami and we have a variety of seafood but these oysters were really good and fresh and the wings were good I'll be back soon.

My family and I are so happy to have found a restaurant that is cozy, has great food and wonderful Employees and owners. They really care about how they treat people and there fish is delicious. So happy to find a place in Monroe that makes great fish and so much to choose from and fresh. Can't wait to go back and bring some of our friends.

Excellent service but the food was a bit hit or miss. My wife ordered a cup of clam chowder that we both felt was unrecognizable and inedible, like chopped clams in bad cream of chicken soup. Our 10 year old had the kids’ cheeseburger, ate half of it there and the second half at home the next day, which she never does, so it must have been good. Ditto for my wife’s lasagna and my shrimp and grits. Both the lasagna and the shrimp and grits were better the second day after they had melded a bit. Shrimp and grits had diced green peppers which really overwhelmed what were otherwise good flavors. We each took a dessert to go. Our daughter chose 7-layer chocolate cake and it took her two days to get through that, too! The restaurant is located in a plaza of stores and offices, so parking lot was very crowded at dinner. Overall worthwhile!

This was my first time at Spiro’s and it was very good. My daughter and I both ordered seafood , she had scallops and flounder grilled and I had the senior plate of Alaskan Whitefish and I had flounder blackened. The food was very good and came out hot. The waitress was excellent and the restaurant was property busy for a Monday night. This restaurant has a very extensive menu so something for everyone. Next time and I plan to order a steak or prime rib. A very good restaurant if in the Monroe , NC area. I will definitely be returning soon.

My husband and I met another couple to have lunch at Hilltop Fishfare for his Birthday. We were seated in a cozy booth area that is raised about a foot up off the main floor. I had the friend oysters and enjoyed them. Husband had a mushroom and Swiss hamburger that was so overcooked you could have used it for shoe leather. Although, fries are delicious. The other couple had ziti, salad and garlic bread, OMG!! The portion was huge and she said it was delicious. Her husband had flounder and it was just ok. Again, fries delicious! Only one dessert was ordered and it was a seven layer chocolate cake and she enjoyed about 3 bites before having to box it up to take home....all and all, food was ok, but my problem is when we left. I went to get up and out of booth and did not get my footing between the booth floor and that extra one foot drop to main floor and fell on my knee and then onto my back. The couple that was with us looked around motified only to realize that the workers from the restaurant were all standing there and had seen the whole thing. Not ONE SINGLE PERSON came to offer help or to ask if I was ok. My husband is 75 years old and could have used some assistance. We used to enjoy Hilltop as we thought it was a family oriented place....but this last visit, really changed our minds and that of our guests as well.

The seafood platter I received to go for lunch for $19.99 was a terrible deal! It wasn't a "platter" at all & looked more like a child's plate! It was missing the hushpuppies, had 2 small pieces of flounder, 3 shrimp, a few pieces of oysters & scallops. The slaw wasn't put into a separate container so the juice ran all over the food! I called the manager (Angelou) to complain about the missing hushpuppies & small serving of seafood & was asked y the manager if I'd eaten any of it?! Really?! He said if I wanted a replacement I'd have to bring it back! Really?! With Covid-19 is that a good idea? So I brought it back & Angelou & Spiro (owner) picked through the food to verify I hadn't eaten any of it!!! They said the serving size was correct. I said it wasn't worth $20. No apologies from them whatsoever. I asked for a refund because at that point I didn't want any food from them & had to wait at least 5 minutes for them to take the returned food to the back & dissect it, I guess, before Angelou came back out to give me my refund!! Hopefully they didn't give any of it to another customer?... I was treated with such disrespect that I'll never ever go back!!!
