I had been craving tacos de trompo for a while and finally found a spot that specializes in these tacos. But the hype was short lived. The tacos are ok. I bought 2 Trompo tacos and 2 chicharron tacos. Both needed SALT to get the taste of the meat to pop. They did however include the sides for regular tacos as well as the pineapple and grilled onions that usually garnish the trompo tacos. There was enough pineapple and grilled onions for ALL of my tacos. TIP: The red salsa is SPICY compared to the green salsa. The tacos are wrapped in double tortillas and they use the SMALL tortillas for tacos. The service was great. It was fast and friendly. The place was a little dead to be in such a great location within a huge shopping center, so parking is not a problem.

Highly recommend, specifically if you are looking for that authentic taco experience. The spuds alre also on point and the salsas taste like homemade. The green salsa is a bit on the spicy side but seriously, it's authentic Mexican food what else do you expect? LOL.

The menu and food was basic, which is one if the things I look for when going out to eat.I would have rated it 4 stars but there were some major flaws, however. I had once ordered chorizo tacos, but instead I received a small portion of sausage and mostly beef (Carne Asada). Maybe even some better maintenance of the place and a rework on how orders are carried out would be great. Also, having more options and a better looking menu would be nice.Drinks seem to be artificially flavor. So if you're looking for freshness in drinks, this isn't one of those places.I HIGHLY recommend trying the Chicharrón tacos! The Chicharrón is boiled and soaked into a spicy, delicious sauce. The Chicharrón (fried pork skin)contains a savory piece of pork meat. The cilantro and onion is served on the side, so it is not already included. The sauces on the table are amazing.I look forward to giving a more positive review to this place if major improvements are made.Parking: Front store parking usually gets full, so the parking lot more infront of the restaurant ends up being the only option. It doesn't get full so it's not a long walk to the restaurant.
Ebe is a fantastic owner and manager. She makes sure that you get your food and any extra sauces and utensils. The food is AMAZING. She is so kind and the food comes out quickly. I love taking mine to go!Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free, dairy free, and I love getting the beef tacos. My visit to Tacos El Regio NC Monroe a few months ago left me with a disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. Although the staff members I interacted with were friendly, the tacos I ordered were exceptionally dry.I placed a pick-up order for a variety of tacos, but upon receiving them, I found the meat to be excessively dry. The lack of juiciness and flavor made it difficult to fully enjoy the meal as intended. To salvage my purchase, I had to remove the meat, add some cheese, and fry them with different tortillas at home. It was disheartening to have to go through such lengths to salvage the meal and avoid wasting the money spent.Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Tacos El Regio NC Monroe to others. While it is possible that it was simply a bad day or an isolated incident, it is important to note that making a large order should not result in such disappointment. Perhaps trying a few of their other products may yield a better experience, but my personal encounter was unsatisfactory.In summary, my visit to Tacos El Regio NC Monroe was marked by dry tacos that required extensive modification to be enjoyable. Despite encountering friendly staff members, this experience has deterred me from returning or recommending the establishment to others. It is my hope that improvements are made to ensure consistent quality for all customers.
