My favorite is the flounder chunks! Hush puppies and salad bar are great as well! Carolyn always makes sure we are taken care of for special events. Have been going there for years. My grandfather used to go there every time he was in town for the oysters! Great place when you want a choice of seafood and steak.

If one word could describe the restaurant, the word would be AVERAGE. The good things first. The waitress was very attentive and did an excellent job. The food was average. I had the No. 3 Super Daddy Seafood. The fish and plain shrimp were good. The oysters and scallops were poor in flavor and taste. The coconut shrimp was not eatable. My wife had the shrimp and the famous salad bar. She said the shrimp was good but nothing special. The salad bar was decent but definitely not famous as it was average. The restaurant could use an update as the restaurant is dark and the furniture is old. I don't plan to eat there again as there are much better options a few miles south of Lake Norman.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. This was our first time at Big Daddy's, and now I know why the parking lot is always packed! We were seated right away, and our friendly and efficient waitress, Sabrina, took our order in quick fashion. The menu is extensive and tempting, so we settled on the fried lobster tails and crab dip to start. Both were excellent. I'm not a fan of hush puppies, but those complimentary, crunchy little morsels were the best I've ever had. For dinner, our group ordered the coconut shrimp - yummy; shrimp and grits - delicious; shrimp and scallops Alfredo - tasty; grilled scallops - delish; and chicken tenders with fries for the kiddos - yummy. Every dish was hot, tasty, and prepared well. Our granddaughters loved the fish, decor and candy store. We will absolutely hit up Big Daddy's again.

I love seafood and Big Daddy is good. A little pricey but they draw a crowd. They have a lot to offer. No delivery is a issue for us.

This place is great. Views of the water and a ton of seating inside. The only issue is that so many want to eat on the patio it becomes a very long wait. Music was great. A little loud to have conversations. The servers were very overworked out there but they seemed very well used to it and did well. The food was good. Fresh and tasty. I definitely recommend going to eat here!

The atmosphere was great and our server Erin was terrific. She took our drink orders and appetizer order and got them all quick. She then took our dinner order and that's where it all starts. Seeing tables that were seated before us getting there foods. Yes we were a party of eight but tables with more and less people at tables were getting there food. Erin did come over and apologize for the wait and that our food will be coming out. After waiting 45 minutes we finally received our food. Everyone started eating and I ordered the scallops in butter sauce. I ate one and it was burning my nose. I told everyone at the table that the scallops had an ammonia smell and taste. They couldn't believe until they smelt my scallops as well as the scallops on two additional plates. How such a restaurant like that serve old scallops or anything to there customers. Asked for a manager and she came over and took the plates and said that we won't be charge for those three plates and that was all. No apology nothing. Even as we were leaving she didn't say a word to us but turn her head. So rude and disrespectful to customers. I don't recommend this restaurant at all cause of rude management and plus for allowing old food to go out and be served. What food safety is this. Seems like health department should get involved. Thought would have been a great evening but now with two people home sick cause of this most likely food poisoning. Beware of this establishment
Food is good and the service is good. However the older lady at the front near the candy shop is short tempered and rude! She needs a job where she doesn't interact with the customers. I've eaten at Big Daddy's for years and always had a good experience. Had this been my first time eating there it would have been my last one.

elderly lady greeted me and would not allow me to sit at the oyster bar..she said "you can't sit in there," entire restaurant was empty.. no employee working at the regular bar to serve a drink... interior is dated and looks ancient and dirty... I will never go back

We hadn't been here in over 30 years and realize our mistake for waiting so long. The service was just fantastic, the food and drinks awesome. The interior is a little dated but looks pretty much the same from way back. The crab cakes which we had grilled were a 10 and the fried lobster tails were a 15. We got seated in front of a running gas fireplace in May but it was just fine. It added to the quirkyness of the place. Can't wait to go back.
