I had the chicken fried chicken with eggs and grits. The chicken was perfectly fried, the eggs were cooked to perfection and the grits were amazing. If you’re thinking about eating here, do it!
The staff is friendly and attentive. The toast was crispy, buttery, and delicious. But my wife ordered over easy eggs that came out scrambled, not a huge deal. But her chicken fried chicken was terrible. We both tried it and found it inedible. Obviously this may have been a fluke because the staff said it was their best seller. They took it off the bill and apologized. We may give them another shot, but for now it’s 3 stars.

Mama Katie’s is hands down one of the best breakfast spots I’ve been to in a long time. It has that perfect blend of homestyle cooking and diner-style comfort that’s hard to find in the Cornelius area.
