GREAT PLACE TO EAT! Iespecially like their lamb shank. Not typical Mexican, so don't expect chips to fill up on. This is good eating.
My first experience at Prickly Pear and it wasn't great. We had reservations for 6 people at 6pm. My boyfriend and I were the first to arrive. It was not busy when we arrived. Our waitress poured some water for us and then completely disappeared until the rest of our party showed up, about 15-20 minutes later. We were hoping to order margaritas to sip while we waited. Another server noticed and came up to us and offered to get us drinks. He kindly brought us the drinks that we had been waiting to order. The food took forever to come out, and I could tell it had been sitting in the window for a while. My black beans were congealed together on my plate and my enchiladas were barely warm. For the high prices, I was hoping for better service/quality.
My family and I had a wonderful dinner her tonight. Amazing food and service
I didn't like whatever they fried the cod fish in. Not sure anyone in my group was head over heels for the food. Atmosphere was decent. It also took awhile to get food.
Servers and staff were nice, food was terrible. Don't put fajitas on the menu if you don't know how to make fajitas. Bad quality overall
I take visitors and locals there and the food, atmosphere and hospitality has never failed to impress. Totally upscale gourmet Mexican.
I chose this restaurant as the location for my second wedding anniversary dinner because of the name. I know it sounds silly but one of the pet names I have for my husband is Prickly Pear. When I read the menu and background of the restaurant I was so happy to hear that the food was upscale Mexican cuisine because, as a chef myself, I love quality, authentic food. I was blown away by the view. Stunning. The food had tons of flavor without being too overpowering. I personally like a bit more spice but I understand having to tone dishes down for the general public. My husband and I ordered the Queso Fundido with the Guajillo Mushrooms (next time I'm going to add both the mushrooms AND the rajas!), Maduros, Visrey, Filete de Hierro and a Grilled Pineapple Margarita. I highly recommend all of those. Everything was last meal worthy. Fantastic job you all!
Delishous food. Best guacamole and the paella was excellent. Love the corn soup too.
The food and the service are excellent! First time here! Will definitely come back.

Love the food, a bit pricey but decent atmosphere
Fabulous atmosphere, food and service! Highly recommend!
We go often- quality of food is beyond what you would expect at Mexican restaurant. Just wonderful- probably been 50 times and never a bad experience. Good consistently outstanding and tried at least half the menu. Owner is super nice and running around himself to make sure all is well. Staff is excellent.
Had a nice lunch there today. Excellent food and great service! I've been here a few times and never had a problem. This is "upscale" Mexican cuisine so don't expect cheap. Tons of other standard Mexican restaurant for that. Nice views of the lake are an added bonus.
Love sitting outside & love the street tacos!
