Best cookies ever!! Someone brought us some to the office last week and I'm definitely going to visit the shop!!! 🍪😍

I had high hopes for these cookies with all the wonderful reviews, but I just wasn’t wowed.

The texture on most was good, except the snickerdoodle. But the taste was just… lacking. And thFor the high price, I just didn’t think they were worth it. It’s possible that it was an off day but, I think I’ve just had better cookies elsewhere. I think you’ll be especially underwhelmed if you bake as a hobby.

It is always a pleasant experience, with fresh offerings and consistently friendly employees. While it would be wonderful if they were open seven days a week, I certainly understand the importance of work-life balance and respect their decision. My favorite is the chocolate chip cookies. My husband is a cookie monster! He says these are hands down the best! He was eating the strawberry one on the way home last night and moaned the entire time. Haha! He gives 10 stars if he could! I loved what was left too!

First time there this afternoon. We tried the cookie butter and vanilla swirl soft serve. I also picked up a lemon bar for later. Soft serve was delicious and incredibly smooth. I just tried a bite off the lemon bar and it is also on point. Definitely tastes scratch made. Highly recommend! Heads up: no seating.

I had a wonderful experience visiting Red’s Scratch Bakery on Saturday, August 2, 2025. I came in craving cookies and although I also wanted to try their ice cream, I decided to save that for another visit.

I sampled several of their cookies and treats, including:
• Chocolate Chip
• Oatmeal Raisin
• Frosted Sugar Cookie
• Snickerdoodle
• And a chocolate brownie topped with peanut butter and fudge

The chocolate in the cookies was incredibly rich, and each item I tried was enormous and clearly made from scratch. You can taste the quality and care in every bite—each cookie was absolutely delicious.

Red’s doesn’t just stop at cookies—they also offer brownies, ice cream, and coffee. On the left side of the store, there’s a cozy barista station with oat milk and likely other milk alternatives. I wanted to grab a photo, but the shop started getting crowded.

Heads up: This venue can get crowded fast, especially on weekends. I went around 12:50 p.m. and it wasn’t too bad at first, but a line started forming shortly after. I’ve heard that 2 p.m. is their peak time on weekends. The lobby area is pretty small, so be mindful of when you go if you want to beat the rush.

Also note: Many of the cookie flavors featured on their Instagram are pre-order only. If you’re looking for something specific, it’s best to order ahead online or be prepared to wait and return later if they’re baking fresh batches.

This bakery is also great for catering—perfect for events like baby showers, birthdays, bridal showers, or other special occasions.

All in all, Red’s Scratch Bakery is a gem in Mooresville, and I’ll definitely be back to try their ice cream, more cookie flavors, and coffee drinks!

I came here because I heard they had gluten free options. There was only one choice when I arrived - a ginger cookie sandwich - and I decided to try it. I'm so glad I did! It was one of the best gluten free cookies I've tried and tasted very similar to an oatmeal creme pie. I look forward to trying more of their gluten free cookie flavors in the future!

TLDR; Come here. Get one of everything because life is short and you deserve it.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for Red’s yet. We can only make it up this way about once a month and we always look forward to it. These are hands down, THE BEST BAKED GOODS IN NC. I’ve tried alot of them, and I bake myself but not near this level of excellence. I have not had one thing here that’s bad and we usually get quite the assortment when we come. My favorites so far have been the Buckeye and the Cookie Butter cookies. They offer a specific flavor of soft serve every week and the texture is off the walls good along with the flavors. They also have an espresso machine and offer lattes and coffee to pair with your goods! Seriously, love this place. If you’re looking for their flavor offerings they post every day on Instagram :)
