Tropical Smoothie Cafe

I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon and ordered a smoothie. I was front of a small line but received my smoothie last out of everyone in the store. I had to remind the guy making smoothies twice that I was missing mine. It was also not completely full when did received it. If you’re looking for quick, accurate service do not go here.

Walked into the place to pick up a mobile order on a Sunday morning before noon. The food entree or smoothie were not ready at the correct time. The two workers were overwhelmed by the 10 customers in the store waiting for their food to be made.

The employee decided to make a handwritten sign to stick on the door to tell customers the store was closed and proceeded to lock the door (all while wearing the food gloves) and then proceeding to make my food entree item. I couldn’t cancel the order at this point from the app or request a refund. The employees stated they were new and didn’t know how to give me or any other customers asking for a refund our money back. The next customer near me stated she waited for 30 minutes and just wanted her money back. I personally stood in store for 25 minutes and couldn’t get my money back. I threw out my food which I saw get prepared by nasty food gloves.

Unsanitary conditions, and lack of customer service training. A manager or shift supervisor should have been working to help guide the new employees on how to handle the rush of in store and online customer orders. I highly advise against placing a mobile order here. Visit the store at your own discretion and scout it out before you place an online/app order for anything ahead of time. Most likely I would walk in and walk right out of here.

I visited here for lunch and was not greeted at all. You guys should put a bell on the door to alert you when someone comes in or just be up front and attentive. After listening to two associates talk about their weekend, hoping that they would check the lobby, I decided to interrupt with a HELLO. The gentleman (I assume was the manager) was not apologetic about the wait and was kind of snarky. I guess I was bothering them. And if that was not the first meal of the day for me and a quick “healthy” option I would have just left. But I promise I won’t be back.

Typically this spot is amazing. However today, the cashier was awesome and seemed very sweet, but the young lady that prepared my Peanut Paradise Smoothie seemed to be unfriendly. And look at how she prepared my Smoothie. Large chunks of ice is all throughout it and the ingredients aren't blended well at all. This mess is nasty as heck. I get this all the time and have no issues. My food and other staff were awesome but the Smoothie ruined my experience.

Tropical Smoothie holds a standard that most establishments do not uphold, therefore I refuse to believe this was done unintentionally. She simply seems to have severe character flaws. I know she didn't treat anyone else like this today. Its cool though because you reap what you sow.

Love, love, love! Especially the blimey limey, acaí bowl (swap blueberries for mangoes) and the peanut butter, and banana crunch folded in a warm soft flatbread on the breakfast menu. I get extra honey (you have to ask in restaurant, no option on the app for extra honey). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using the app. It's easy to customize and swap or add items. Especially if you don't like certain fruit or need to "veganize" items with yogurt. Then you can just pick it up from the shelf once there. Customer service is amazing, great atmosphere. The ONLY "negative" thing I can say, is it's not a lot of space to dine-in, but it's usually not busy, because most orders are takeout. I hate to say this, but their smoothies and acaì bowls are way better than smoothie king. Only thing smoothie has on them is multiple sizes and friday deal. Tropic cafe has great rewards. Ok, I'm done lol!

Vegetarian options: Majority of the smoothies are vegan. You can swap the yogurt items with coconut cream.

Parking: It's a large shopping center parking lot. I usually pull up in front of the door, and grab my stuff from the shelf.

So last time I ordered the food wasn’t great but previously it was so I said maybe it was just who was working. Well today I tried again and my Caribbean jerk wrap was made poorly. I also called right after I ordered and asked for it to be double pressed because a lot of the time the wrap is soggy. And what did I end up with a soft wrap. If the machine isn’t working properly then that should be stated. I order from here about every other week due and these past two times have not been great.

Smoothie tasted like peanut butter and water, when told manager he made no accommodations. Had to pay full price for a new one. Drove over 35 minutes just for Tropical Smoothie too. Disappointed

Horrible

Smoothies are really delicious and can be made to my own specifications. Food items, while on the smaller side, are always delicious too. Managers and counter service have been pleasant, efficient and quick serving. It’s become my go to.
