We have dined at Floyd's several times while visiting the area and have always had a nice experience, good food and service. But, our visit last week, 3/14, was not what we expected. The food quality was sub-par, the shrimp size was far smaller than we have experienced in the past, the fish served with the fish and chips was under cooked and soggy inside and the shrimp and grits was bland. And, the prices are just too high to justify the food quality and serving sizes.Add to this a waiter who was very uninformed about the menu, was slow to respond with drink refills and other requests, and generally talked too much, mostly about himself and his girlfriend. Overall a very disappointing visit and one that will probably cause us not to risk a return trip anytime soon, sorry to say.

Great choice if you want something different than the awesome hole in the wall meat and 3 local dives or the trendy pay $15 for an average sandwich places. Menu has something for everyone from gourmet lamb chops or seafood to fried local fish to a knock your socks off Rueben or meatloaf with reasonable prices for the quality of food, preparation and presentation. I highly recommend this place.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to anywhere in the US. Amazing selection of seafood and cooked to perfection. The servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I met the owner and she was delightful and nice. I highly recommend this restaurant when you’re in town. You won’t regret it.

I cannot say enough good things about this food. ?We got the redneck egg rolls, meatloaf and a Reuben and each one of them was as good as the next. Putting a meatloaf on your menu is a bold move, but this one did not disappoint. Finished off the meal with a lemon cheesecake.

Outstanding, made reservations, and informed them of food allergies. When we arrived at the restaurant, the chef had marked up the menu to show dishes that could be made to accommodate my needs. The food was very good. Will go back to eat there again in the near future.

Disappointing. The beers were ok but the food was substandard especially at these prices. Mac n cheese (billed as 'not your ordinary mac n cheese') was very ordinary. Ribs weren't great. Caesar salad didn't have a hint of anchovy and the dressing was skimpy. There were no vegan dishes at all, not even a veggie burger.Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian options (eg caprese salad, Mac n cheese) and no vegan options.

Excellent food and service. Staff were very professional, which definitely enhanced the dining experience. Highly recommended for a date night, family night or any night really.

This is now our favorite restaurant in Morehead City. Food was wonderful. And, the service was great. Tight indoors on a busy weekend night. A bit hectic at times. The outdoors seating looked enjoyable. Easy walk from MC Yacht Basin.

I'd give more stars, but there were concerns. Husband's birthday trip to the beach and we had dinner reservations there. We were asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or at a high top in the bar area. We said no, we made reservations for 2 for dinner. We were seated at a tiny table directly abutting a wall in a room where patrons and wait staff were constantly walking around 3 sides of us, inadvertently bumping my chair. The AC unit mounted on the wall directly behind me was blowing directly on my back. I politely asked if we could be moved. Our waiter went to check with the host. We were given the bar option again. Noting that a table of 4 had literally just left, and 2 tables pushed together for a larger party was exiting while waiting for an answer, I asked our server if we could be moved to one of those and the waiter said they were all reserved. By this time it was well after 8 pm. Husband was upset and we switched seats so at least the cold air wasn't on my back. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Our entrees were brought out and the food and drinks were good. Neither of the 3 empty tables in the room were filled with ANY more patrons. There is no way that reservations for 2-3 parties were made for after 8pm that did not show. Why, is an excellent question. Only one server was working our room, so it wasn't that. We were the last to exit that room of the restaurant. Was it the host? Why would they lie? If it wasn't for my husband's birthday, we would have left. That was absolutely inexcusable. It was approaching 10pm when we exited the restaurant. There was live music outside that was about to end, the guy said he was playing his last song. My husband tried to go back inside the restaurant less than 5 minutes after we exited, to use the restroom and he returned saying the restaurant must be closing because the door was locked. The food was good but really cannot recommend or give more stars unfortunately. We weren't a problem, we were polite, clean, dressed appropriately and dropped more than a couple hundred on drinks, an appetizer, 2 dinner entrees and tip. A simple polite request to be moved and we were lied to. Even the free bday dessert and waiter spending time talking with us couldn't change the fact that we had been lied to and had to endure the tiny table for our entire dining experience. Totally inexcusable.

Very dissatisfied with the level of customer service. One week before our reservation for our wedding dinner, I got a call saying my reservation was cancelled because they have a catering event. Not happy with this level of customer service. This does not leave much time to get a restaurant to cater to a group as large as ours. Just disappointing to say the least.
