I placed an online order for delivery. I grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania and there was a place in my home town called Tom's Pizzeria. I had my first Stromboli from Tom's and it was to die for. It had Thinly sliced Steak, Ham, Mozzarella AND Provolone Cheeses, A thin scattering of Sweet Pickles, and a Thick Moderately Spicy Tomato Sauce all wrapped in a BUTTERY Flaky Lightly browned Dough. I saw Stromboli on the menu and my thoughts immediately went to home and I ordered it HOPING for anything even remotely close to what I remembered. Boy was I in for a HUGE disappointment.
I Chose a Medium and was only permitted to select TWO toppings. That was the first big hint that they don't know how to make Stromboli. STROMBOLI DOESN'T HAVE ANY TOPPINGS! EVERYTHING is wrapped inside the Dough! So, I chose Steak and Ham and asked them to add sweet pickles and charge me accordingly. What I received was nothing like what I remembered. I did receive a courtesy message written inside the box - " No Sweet Pickles. Only Dill here. Here is some Sweet Peppers". The Stromboli was in a puddle of grease. The Dough in the center was soggy. The tightly folded dough at both ends was as hard as a brick to the point I was afraid of breaking my teeth. The Steak was ground beef and had a really great flavor. The ONE SLICE LAYER of Ham was so paper thin that I could literally see through it and couldn't taste it at all. There was far too much Mozzarella Cheese. All I could taste was Steak and Cheese. There was no Sauce inside the Stromboli and was provided in two small sealed cups instead and was WATERY, BLAND TO THE POINT OF BEING TASTELESS, AND EXTREMELY COLD, as if they had been taken out of a freezer and added to my order before it went out the door.
The sauce was so watery that spices were actually floating on the surface! In over a sixty years of eating, THAT'S A FIRST!

This was my very first experience with this restaurant and I can assure you that it is also my last!

OMG this was the nastiest food I have ever had. I paid $50 for 2 pizzas and we threw them both out. There was literally no sauce. The crust was old and gross. The toppings were so minimal we had to search for them. I feel completely ripped off. We ordered online and picked up. Really people move on... Don't waste your money like I did. YUCK 🤮

Loretta’s Pizza serves classic New York-style pizza—extremely thin crust with just a touch of sauce and cheese. While it may seem light on toppings, that’s exactly how it’s meant to be, and they execute it well. It’s hard to find authentic pizza like this in Carteret County, which is why it’s become a go-to for my family. If you’re after simple, traditional pizza, Loretta’s is worth a visit.

I have traveled the country, and had a lot of pizza styles, from NYC to CT to Chicago to everywhere else. I got a double pepperoni pizza at Loretta's. The crust was the lightest and thinnest I've ever had. While not baked in a Coal Fired oven like I recently had in Hartford, the crust was thin, crispy but soft, a little char, and perfectly delicious. I would order this pizza from this restaurant 10 of 10 opportunities. I welcome Dave Portnoy to come down and give a Pizza Review. I am duly impressed. Not the very best, but it ranks in the group of the best pizza I've had.

I do not recommend after tonight. This used to be my favorite place. But after spending $75 and food was gross. I will be looking for a new pizza place

I ordered a pizza, cheesesteak and a side of meatballs. The pizza was dry and paper thin. It was like it had been sitting under a heat light for 3 days. The cheesesteak was good that is why I gave the food a 2 star I’m scared to check the meatballs. I had to go to Franks to pick up another pizza since the one I got from Loretta’s was inedible.
