Minoda's has the best damn sushi from Morehead City to Havelock, and even to New Bern. I am consistently blown away by how excellent the sushi is every time I go. Last time I went they had tuna chips, so creative and delicious. They traditional plates a good too but I'm always in it for the rolls. Customer service is great too. I could eat in every week!

Great quiet atmosphere. Seaweed salad is top notch. Interesting sushi options. Chicken dinner was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Will return.

Really great sushi and decent prices. The restaurant is huge and the ambiance is great! It's awesome to know there is a true sushi house in Morehead City.

I really wasn't impressed. I looked up their menu online, and when I got there every thing I planned on ordering wasn't on the menu. Then I ordered two rolls, they were super plain and not what I was expecting based on the description on the menu. It was the first time I had sushi at a decent restraunt where the nori was chewy and tough. My husband had the same issue, got something that was totally different than what he expected based on the description and ended up really not liking his meal. The staff was very friendly, the interior was pretty, but the food was just bleh. I won't be going back.

The food was good until...... a ROACH decided to play peekaboo around our plate. One of the other guest sitting next to me finally got em. The cook kinda made a joke about it with one of the other associates. “We just saw one of your friends running around”. I remind myself of this incident every time I drive by this establishment.

This was one of the worst restaurants I've ever been too, and the worst "hibachi" restaurants I've ever been to. We moved here recently, and decided to keep the tradition of hibachi for anniversary going tonight. So we chose here based on star reviews on google. When my husband and I arrived, we asked for the hibachi grill, but were handed a "hibachi menu" and told no hibachi grill. We were not told why, but just escorted to a dining table. I used the restroom first. The bathroom floor and doors were sticky. The soap was in a squirt bottle instead of a hands free pump, and no paper towels. Our table was sticky as well, as with the floor of the dining room. Everything seemed to be slightly sticky. I ordered edamame, which came extremely under cooked and under salted. My husband bit into one and it "splintered" in his mouth due to it being undercooked. I also ordered the filet mignon hibachi. It came with clear soup, and salad with ginger dressing. Both were alright, nothing fantastic. My filet was orded rare, but some peices looked raw and were cold. The fried rice was very under cooked and crunchy. The veggies were luke warm. My husband ordered the new strip hibschi, rare, and also got cold, raw bits. His rice, soup, and salad were the same as mine. Our waitress made a comment about the kitchen workimg fast, since we ordered and no five minutes passed and our food arrived one by one. The only thing that was "freshly cooked hot" was the soup. Which we were sure came from a bulk pot. Our meat and veggies were not hot. She also commented thst the owner was cooking, which if thats true, shame on him for cooking and allowing food like that to be served. We were there for less than 30 minutes. It is now on our "to avoid" list.

This used to be my favorite restaurant but now I'll never go back the hibachi grill has been closed indefinitely. So while waiting on a regular table I sat at the bar and waited about 30 min before someone took my drink order. Then when we finally got our table and ordered it took forever for our food to get to us and by the time it got there it was cold. The only redeeming quality this place had was our waitress who was extremely friendly although she was a little slow to refill our drinks she clearly had too many tables which I blame on the management not her. She is the only reason they didn't get one star.

If I could leave 1/2 a star I would. Walked in and they told us the hibachi grill was closed but we could order and they would cook it in the kitchen. The 3 other tables around us walked in after we ordered, got their food paid, left and we still we still didn't have our food. The waitress gave us 4 different excuses over the next hour and a half as to why we didn't have our food. At this point the 4 of us and our 2 year old had had enough. So we told the waitress we were leaving and the manager said she would give us 15% off our 4 sushi rolls, edimame, and 2 sweet teas. it took another 10 minutes to bring out our check. Noting like paying $36 for appetizers and having to eat at a drive through with a screaming 2 year old.
