Taste of Napoli Restaurant and Bar

After not having much luck in our local area with Italian food, we took a drive into Morehead City and took a chance on this restaurant. We were not disappointed! From the warm, perfectly toasted, flavorful bread to the main courses, we were so excited. My penne with garlic and oil was so tasty and my husband’s chicken Parmesan was amazing. We even asked for extra bread to take home because it was that good. It’s a very cute, friendly place and we cannot wait to go back!

The absolute best Italian food in town authentically prepared by the Italian owner. The chicken marsala is my go to dish but they have many to choose from with your choice of pasta on each dish and the portions are generous. Each dish comes with freshly prepared bread. I also thoroughly enjoy their garlic cheese bread and have not found anywhere else that makes it better.

Oh my!!! We had a family outing of 10 people. We got there and they were full. We were going to leave but we were all talking outside and an employee came and said do you want to eat outside and we said yesss. Our waiter was one of those people that can do everything. He was the bartender for inside but tonight he was that AND our waiter outside. He got us all laughing and took our orders. Food was coming out and Diane was helping bring stuff out laughing the whole time. They talked us into 10 canolies. Delicious. What a fantastic fun delicious meal. Needless to say, we will be back. Oh and all the food was fabulous!!!!! Thank you thank you both for a wonderful evening.

My wife and I were vacationing nearby and heard of this place through a friend. It did not disappoint. My wife got the baked ziti, while I had chicken parmesan. They were both cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Delicious, all of it, including the cheesecake and bread.

I heard how great this place was and was looking forward to it. I brought my date there hoping for an enjoyable dinner. Our server was very upsetting. Her stomach was hanging out of her shirt and when we asked about the specials and recommendations she explained things but kept cursing while doing so. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! We didn’t even order and got up and left. I was extremely disappointed!

So I dont usually leave a review. But I felt like I needed to. Food was good. Calamari was good, I like my calamari a little more breaded, this was light breaded, sauce was good though. Bread was awesome overall. I ordered the clams with the white wine garlic sauce, added shrimp over penne. It came out over penne, no shrimp, the waitress had put shrimp but it never replaced in the back. I asked about it, she tried to get them to start the the shrimp, I said didn't worry about it. Pasta and sauce flavor was great, most of the clams were great as well, however there were a few noticable bigger thicker shell clams that didn't get cooked all the way I guess. It is what it is, they would have to separate the small from the big or something, I dunno. Pasta sauce was awesome. Waitress was great as well. I'm just a little torn about it all. Had the clams been done all the way, I probably wouldn't have reviewed, had I got the shrimp, I probably wouldn't have reviewed. The calamari, that's a taste thing, if they were amazing to what I wanted, probably wouldn't have reviewed. Overall, great flavor on everything, really liked the place. You gotta try it at least and give it a go, maybe the stars didn't line up for me. I have 4 stars across, things were great and things weren't, service, also the same. I dunno.

If you are looking for authentic, great Italian cuisine-look no further. This is a hidden gem-literally. Giovanni took great care of us and prepared two delicious veal and shrimp dishes for us. I highly recommend dining here. We are two Italians from New Jersey and fussy about our Italian food. Thank you Giovanni; we hope to see you again soon.
