I had a wonderful late breakfast at Little Guatemala recently while visiting in the area. I had the Chapin plate which consisted of black beans, fried plantains, sausage, scrambled eggs and warm corn tortillas with a little drizzle of crema. Simple, beautiful, delicious and very satisfying. The coffee was amazing to say the least. The young woman at the counter was really very accommodating and kind. A very good experience as I'm not a morning person.
The restaurant itself is attractive with a large covered deck at the back. They sell coffee which smells incredible. Little Guatemala reminds me of European cafés Ive experienced with the delicious, simplified menu and the focus on coffee.
There's ample parking behind the business with a nice football (soccer) field to boot. If I lived in Morganton, NC. I'd make this place a regular stop to buy coffee as well as a bite to eat. If you're ever near this place grab a bite and check out the coffee. I found that they have a web site for their coffee. This place is a gem.
Parking: There's a large parking area behind the business.

Ordered vegan tostadas- one black beans and one guacamole. Mentioned I was a vegan so they said “no cream, right?” No dairy - I’m a vegan! Our tostadas came with a smear - very light - one with guacamole and one with refried black beans with cheese on top. Sent it back and was told I didn’t specify no cheese! Order came out again with nothing but a light (very light) smear of guacamole on one and refried black beans in the other. There was nothing else even though the menu states comes with cilantro, onions, tomatoes….. very bland.
Great coffee and yummy food. Eating outside on their big deck is such a cool vibe.
My 2 BFF 'S and I meet for fresh roasted Guatemalan coffee and pastries at this wonderful laid back gem.I love that you can hear each other's conversations with little background noise. And you can sit at tables oe comfy couches and chairs both inside or on a covered patio outside. The staff always has a genuine smile for their customers. And if interested Little Guatemala lives up to it's name with genuine items from the country for sale.

Stopped in for a late lunch after seeing a movie. Had a delicious sandwich, Shuko - meat, some shredded cabbage, I think, great spreads. Only wish the bread had been a bit crustier. Friendly service, pleasant environment, reasonable prices.

Flank steak was under-flavored and served with cold salsa. Scrambled eggs were also bland. The plantains and beans were great! Tip requested at checkout (15-25%), but no table service?

Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and coffee this morning at this place. I’ve been wanting to try this place for quite a while. While it is “Guatemala” it really reminded us of the time we spent in Nicaragua. The food is freshly prepared! The tortillas are amazing! I did not see it on the menu but I’m hoping they can make me some authentic gallo pinto next time. We will certainly be back even if it’s not a very local shop to us.
Best coffee ever! Roasted in house. Beautiful fabric crafts from Guatemala. Wonderful food

Little Guatemala is wonderful, and their great food is just the beginning. It has such a warm and welcoming community feel and the owners have clearly put so much care into creating what is truly a local gem. And the coffee is amazing.

A Friday afternoon…..Great atmosphere, and wonderful back deck.Couldn’t sit on deck due to leaf blowing parking lot.Lot of additions/renovation in transition so understandable. The food is not seasoned or spicy so be prepared for that if you like it ?️, grab the hot sauce provided.
