Went here for a first date. Our waitress Maddy was so sweet and so funny and down to earth. Honestly she made the experience great- I wish more waitresses were sweet like her. We had so much fun and will definitely be back! The food was incredible, we wished we had saved room for dessert, and we can’t wait to come back and try a pizza!

5 years ago we discovered this restaurant on our way to the Apple Orchard hard with kids. The food, service and atmosphere were amazing! Last weekend we found ourselves in Morgantown and were very happy to learn that the restaurant still there, moved a little down the block but the food and overall vibe is still there and amazing! Definitely check it out, take your time and enjoy!

Really loved this place! I did not know what I expected in this small town at the base of the blue ridge parkway but they really delivered! The wine list, the cocktails, the beers on draft! Tried all three and loved each one I tried! Thai basil and cilantro with Roku gin? Yum! And so many great beers to try!! Plus they do half pours for wine and beer — thank you!! My salad was sooo good! The pizza too! Just go! You will love it! We had just finished driving the parkway and hiking and I was worried I wouldn’t be dressed nicely enough but they are casual while still feeling upscale. Super friendly and great service!

Great dinner & service. Good wine & beer choices. Wedge salad was good. Special soup of fennel, tomato & eggplant was great. Every wood fired pizza I've had before just seemed like a pizza. Theirs changed my mind, the hint of smoke with each bite made this pizza special. The Bourbon bacon brownie was very good. Server was friendly & knowledgeable We will definitely go back.

September 19,2025 Root & Vine is such a standout spot in downtown Morganton! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, with just the right mix of energy and comfort. The food was absolutely fantastic—the chicken tacos were perfectly seasoned and fresh. To go with it, the strawberry lemonade martini was refreshing and creative, the perfect balance of sweet and tart.
What really made the meal special was the service. Our waitress, Madii, was a true superstar—attentive, fun, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. She made excellent recommendations and checked in often enough to make us feel cared for.
Between the delicious food, creative drinks, and the great vibe, Root & Vine has quickly become my favorite place in Morganton. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great meal!
