42nd Street Oyster Bar Reviews

This used to be my go-to for tasty food and cold beer before my flight. I went for the grilled shrimp and fresh veg option. Everything was soaked in butter when it arrived and I asked if the shrimp had been fried? clearly it had been tossed in a pan, but I was told it was grilled. Nearly sent it back, not a healthy option as expected!Next time, stick to beers and oysters with a side salad with no dressing. They can’t fail that!

Best place in RDU for hot food, it seems. Agree with prior reviews about service being fast but cramped, with a limited menu—which I’d prefer if done well compared to more variety but food done poorly. Not only was my food fast, but the burger was cooked as ordered with a fresh bun (the bar for airports being that low) and the potato chips that come standard were surprisingly good. Thus far this is the only option I’d return to of the places I’ve tried at RDU.

I saw the poo reviews but forged on in-spite but glad I did. The place was jammed packed but I found a spot at the bar. Bartender greeted me immediately, showed me where to find the menu and got a drink out. I enjoyed the clam Chowda and a crab cake sammich with chips. Everything was well seasoned and tasted great. Give this place a shot if you are at the RDU Airport. I plan to eat here again when I'm in town in the future.
