The best of the best SCNB around. Even the staff is amazing. BBQ is the best anywhere around even amongst themselves.
And all that.. it's in Morrisville..where it's predominantly transplants and Asians. Go Figure!

7 years ago my family and I found this place, it was the best for the next 5-6 years, them management decided to move Mr. Wes to Greensboro, that was the worse decision ever, the place is going down by the waste side. Today we bought some food, ordered a sweet tea and a free coffee as we always did, today they said, we are done doing coffee for the day and declined to offer it, when Mr. Wes was here, he would walk to the tables and chat with every customer and ask if we needed anything further, nowadays, that is no longer, service is only at the register, pay and move on 😭 sad that this beautiful place changed for the bad. Attached see my review from when we moved to N.C it was 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ all around, today only the food was good but it tasted bad out of pain for the lackluster service. Bring Wes back, he can restore, bring love and care for the customers. Mr Wes would come to people's tables and ask if they needed refills or anything, today no one came by, this place is iconic to many of us, fix it, glad you want to help teenagers but they need a person like Mr Wes to show them the way, blind leading the blind leads to destruction.

First time at Smithfield's! It was great! The customer service was excellent! I prefer regular BBQ sauce which they don't have but their red sauce and vinegar sauce are both pretty good!

Food was good, hot, and fresh. Chicken was nicely seasoned. The hushpuppies had a delightful hint of sweetness, the potato salad was just okay, but the coleslaw was excellent. Service was great, staff was friendly and attentive. Will return.

Delicious food, quickly. I get the tender sandwich or the tenders. I think it’s funny how high the ceilings are for a fast casual place… why? Not a problem just a bit puzzling. Hush puppies and fries are great too!

This is one of my all-time favorite places to eat when in eastern NC. Consistently good. Another thing you will find here is consistently courteous staff. In fact my daughter and I went here for dinner and she had a bit of a headache and one of the staff members sensed she was not feeling 100%. He out of the kindness on his heart brought her a water and a banana pudding to hopefully make her feel better. You don't find that type of person very often. Thank you Smithfields. When we are back through that area we will be sure and stop in. For some of the best BBQ around!!!!
