The food here is amazing. The service is not. I went here twice because the biscuits were that good but each time the service was lackluster. The staff at the coffee shop weren’t super friendly and seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but there for both visits. They also seemed to have a hard time listening to orders as my drink was made incorrectly 2 times. The drinks were also very bland tasting. Whoever is making the food needs to also provide a crash course for the drinks because the food is out of this world.

On a recent trip to Durham, NC I had the opportunity to visit Morning Ritual for my morning coffee. I like to support local and small coffee shops, this fit the bill. The service was friendly, the coffee was great, and they had a nice area outside to enjoy your coffee and breakfast. In addition to great coffee, I ordered the biscuit board to go, and it was delightful. Warm biscuits with Strawberry Butter! Next time I am in town, I will be back!

Really good latte! I went in without reading reviews and asked the kid working what he recommended. He made me a caramel latte with half and half and it was great. Had me in and out quick too which I appreciated!

This made me so sad. I thought I’d finally try one of the only coffee spots nearby and I’m immensely disappointed. This could benefit greatly from having one full time person working it.But the coffee is incredibly lacking. They use an eversys automatic espresso machine. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for efficiency. I do that at home, not when I want to get a treat. Further, not needing to hire someone who knows how to make coffee means that your prices should be at least the same price as a major chain. I shouldn’t be paying the same price for a latte that was hand made by someone who knows what they’re doing. The quality of the beans was bad, and the latte I had put a damper on my day. Don’t bother until changes are made.

Buyer beware. This is not a standalone coffee shop but a coffee bar attached to a restaurant. I work nearby and really want to like this place, but every time I go I get the sense the coffee was an afterthought. On more than one occasion I walked in to the find the hostess also the one trying to make coffee. The staff often seem to be unsure as to how to make the simplest of orders. On two separate occasions I ordered a cortado and they pulled out a 16oz cup and began filling it with ice... I'll leave you with that.

I love this spot and my biggest issues are with service. Most of the employees seem miserable, it’s a coffee shop but your latte machine has been out for a week now, I’ve been multiple times during business hours and it’s closed, I’ve been multiple times where I’ve had to look around for an employee to take my order. Coffee, food, and vibe is great but that means nothing if the service is non existent or can’t be trusted.

The restaurant is divided into 2 sections between The Morning Ritual and The Goat, which is not clear. They sit you in The Goat section, which has a different menu.Service was mediocre, several tables that sat after us received their food before us. My husband had pancakes, they were OK, nothing extraordinary. I had the vegan sausage and egg biscuit and would not order again. OJ comes in processed bottles again, not what we were expecting, and the server never came by for coffee refills. Sorry, but we won't be back!

Came across this on instagram I thought the walk up window was really unique. Unfortunately, no one ever came to the window for service so I made multiple trips inside. I also Agree with other reviewers that the coffee is bland and watery (& on the expensive side) my ice drink was overfilled and dripping all over with no napkins in sight - the muffin was really good and warmed plus the outdoor seating is quaint (but no outdoor garbage cans). My dog enjoyed the pup cup the most. It has potential it’s just not there yet.
I originally chose this coffee shop because the atmosphere looked aesthetically pleasing. I was excited to try a smaller coffee shop in the brier creek area. Unfortunately there was no one manning the coffee shop and the hostess had to be our barista. She was not inviting or seemed to want to be there. I like going to local coffee shops to make small talk with the baristas and have a nice short conversation while we order. The barista didn’t ask how we were or smile at us once. The coffee is decent but nothing to write home about. Will not be coming back.This place has potential. I think getting full time staff could help this place immensely.

Something to be aware of - this is a mixed-use building with a coffee shop on one side and restaurant / bar on the other. I'm only talking about the coffee shop side here.Quaint but limited indoor seating in the coffee area (and extremely cold - probably due to the bar side being open to the pool forcing AC to work hard) but there was some nice uncovered outdoor seating in a grassy area with a little service window for the coffee. Unfortunately, the chai tea latte that I got was pretty unimpressive.,. watery and bland... but the people working in the coffee shop were friendly and helpful. I did not have any other coffee drinks but from the looks of things this place is catering primarily to people who would like to have a quick caffeine hit and be on their way as opposed to savoring time and beverage.They have a breakfast food menu but because I came in late afternoon I did not sample it.Overall I see a lot of potential here, but poor execution (so far?)
