Golden Corral Buffet & Grill

This location used to be the best place around to eat, but now most of the food is cold and not even kept warm. The wait staff are still sweethearts as always and deserve a raise. But whoever is running this restaurant needs fired because it’s become run down and extremely low quality. Not worth the money anymore.

Buffet is ideal for our ladies' group. We each pay going in, and each leaves a tip for whatever they think is fair. The variety of dishes has seasonal changes, so everyone gets something that is either new or an old favorite. The food temperature is maintained and monitored frequently. I wish that the bathrooms were kept up as well. It is in desperate need of a remodel,

I have eaten here many times for a large ministers breakfast. Even though we had the whole party room taken up they took care of every drink very timely .. Great food and Great service!

First and foremost we have been loyal customers to Golden Corral
Mt Airy for many years. Over the last 6 months the buffet has continuously declined. Our last 4 trips there May 2025 the food on the buffet was cold, left over items from the day before on the lunch buffet are not heated properly, chicken is hard as a rock and lukewarm at best, burned meat loaf, left over burgers that with cold center. Fruits on salad bar were mushy and not fresh. We finally had enough and asked for the manager, before I finished talking to the manager a lady walked up and voiced the same concerns and complaints. We heard multiple customers complaining. We will not return until this issue is fixed!!
Our server was absolutely wonderful and apologized multiple times, it’s not her fault the restaurant is failing now. Also noticed they currently have 90 health score that’s the bottom of the A rating. It should be lower with old cold food!! Someone will get sick!

Went around 7 so maybe that's why the food was pretty bad. The steak was good but the fried chicken was extremely dry and the desserts were like bricks.

Asked for steak she gave me the smallest piece possible so I asked for a second piece and she said she’d get fired if she gave me more than one🤣 it was maybe a 2oz piece. So weird. And I was there celebrating Mother’s Day for myself and my mom.

the meal wasn't anything exceptional most of the good food from the buffet was gone with mostly scraps left the server was very attentive though the atmosphere was just bland

Excellent experience here, as usual. We try to sit in Jamie’s section because he is so attentive. This is our go-to Saturday morning breakfast place.

The one in Mt.Airy, NC. over priced and very little food on plates. You will leave hungry
