I tried Jack's for the first time this afternoon and I can honestly say that was some of the best food I've ever eaten. I got the blackened chicken sandwich, baked Mac and cheese and loaded ranch potatoes. The marinated tomatoes on the sandwich set it off. This is my new favorite place to eat. I highly suggest you give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
So far only tried burger and salads. Both AMAZING!
Jack’s Food Shack is one of our favorite places to eat. Everything we have tried has been top notch, but our favorites are the Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, Grilled Chicken Salad’s and Seasoned Fries. The Banana Pudding is yummy too 😋 Customer service is always superb. They truly care about their customers, and work diligently to give you the best food and service in Mount Airy.
Absolutely DO NOT skip over Jack's Food Shack. This is one of the most underrated restaurants I have been to so far. It's difficult to put into words the quality and passion that's put into the food.
The chicken was moist and well cooked, the sauce was savory with a bit of spice with veggies on top to cool everything down. The fry's where absolutely amazing! They we're seasoned with not only salt but with other spices, it's a great twist on a classic side dish.
I was surprised by the portion size compared to price. You get more than you would a medium Big Mac meal from McDonald's.
There are only two things that I dislike about Jack's Food Shack. One is the lack of a seating area and two are the inconsistent hours of operation.
There is so much potential with this small restaurant, I cannot wait to see it grow into a well known and popular spot to eat amazing food!

My husband and I finally visited for the first time recently, the menu left us debating on what to choose first? Because everything worked so amazing. I definitely recommend the roast beef hoagie. My husband ordered it and I was concerned because we didn't think to order any sides for him, however, when they handed us the bag and it weighed as much as a small child, I knew he would probably be okay ? it was delicious and moist while still having bread that wasn't soggy. It was also huge! I tried the crab cake sandwich and it was delicious. We can't wait to go back!

We have eaten here twice so far and will most definitely be back! The staff is very friendly and the food is amazing! There is no other restaurant in Mt. airy that has food like this. The blacked chicken is seasoned so well, the blackened burger is huge and the best burger in town, the Mac n’ cheese is the best I have ever had! I also had the salted caramel mocha iced coffee. It was good and well priced for the large size.

Let me start by saying I went to Jack's at least once a week when they were still in the food truck, and it was the best place in town to eat! Now they have moved inside, expanded the menu, and hired new people. Since then the food and service is not as good.
My last visit was a few weeks ago and the wings were not overcooked, not hot, and poorly sauced when I received them. The wings come with a few fries and I always ask to have them wrapped separately so the sauce doesn't get on them. This time they put the fries in the container with the wings anyway, so they were inedible. The meat on the American Hoagie was somewhat warm even though it's a cold sandwich. The chef salad was missing the cheese! The drip cake was unusually dry, normally they put liquid in the container.
All in all, it was a horrible experience! We will be eating at home a lot more now, I guess.
