Could not have scripted this visit better. We visited with my mom and sister. When we grew up, we had a drugstore that served ice cream and other food items .. you would think those are long gone .. yet someone has captured the memory and frozen time
Our mom has great memories of banana splits in glass boats ...and got exactly what she wanted with wet nuts (only way to serve it according to her) .. My sister and I had hot fudge sundaes and I felt I needed a grilled cheese and fries to close out the childhood memory
Gina was our server and was magic!! She really made the dream even more magical

Quaint lil shop, 50s style charm. Quick service too! Ordered the BLT and an orange soda, which was an old fashioned handmade soda (not Crush). I really wanted grape but they didn't have the flavoring. They were also out of two other flavoring too. Interesting collection of autographed pictures of old time actors and Barbie dolls.

The sign said, “Wait to be seated,” but not one of the at least four employees acknowledged us and avoided eye contact completely. You’re left to feel unwelcome. After waiting awhile, we had no choice but to leave. The energy was dead anyway. Ain’t no Mayberry here.

This place is great! My wife and I recently visited for a quick snack while in town. This is a family owned place and they really care about their customers. Great food and an assortment of refreshing old style sodas! We were visiting while on vacation and were having a good chat with the owners. They couldn’t be any more helpful when they found out that we were having difficulty with our RV and offered suggestions of where we may find some parts to get us going. Small town values that are rare to come by these days. Thanks to you all for you kindness!

The guy that took our order appeared as if he was probably the owner of the business and he was very nice. The food was good and they have a nice selection of old timey style fountain drinks in addition to the standard issue soft drinks found everywhere else. We're likely to go again next tire we are in town.
We were finishing our day in Mount Airy and decided to stop for dessert at Walker’s Soda Shop. It was very busy, so we were seated at the bar. Took a few minutes before our order was taken and a few minutes more to receive our order. My daughter got an ice cream scoop. I and my son got shakes, and my husband got a custom soda. We loved everything we got; it was really good. Had to wait again at the register a while before we could check out.

Bacon cheeseburger was very juicy and flavorful. Fries were crisp and cooked to perfection. Would definitely go here again. It does get very busy as this is one of two dining places to eat in downtown.
