We love this place. They have a flavor of the week that varies. You can also get other menu items like sundaes, floats, or freezer items like previously made custards in pints or chocolate dipped bananas. There are no wrong choices as it's all so good. The staff is always friendly. The place is tiny inside, so if they're busy, be prepared to stand outside. There is a bench to sit on and more just around the corner. Our Main Street is one way only and if there's no street parking available, there are a few public lots nearby and they are free.

Incredible! Definitely stop by for this amazing custard. I asked if they had butter pecan flavor. Very nice person said she could make it for me. Oh my gosh! She then mixed the vanilla custard, toasted pecans and flavoring to make the most delicious butter pecan custard! I wish we lived nearby instead of just visiting.

Stopped by during a casual stroll downtown, greeted by the sound of contemporary Christian music and a smile from the worker, Cassidy. She was friendly, described custard choices and completed our request quickly. I had a Andy's Gem Sundae, he had Key Lime Pie custard. The best custard ever, so good we came back the next day for Key Lime Pie again. The owner was there, friendly and once again, the BEST custard. ?
If I'm ever in Mt. Airy again, will visit again.

Traveling from New Hampshire . Coming through the area . We went in tonight and were greeted with a great hard working young staff . Orange creamsicle float was fantastic . Job well done !

Great Frozen Custard, Friendly owner and staff. I love reading reviews, they are helpful and sometimes entertaining. Trophy goes to Tessa Renfro for leaving a 1 star review because the owner of Whit's apparently knew a homeless guy. Let me get this straight....you go in and owner asks, "cash or credit?" You pay with cash. Alleged homeless guy that was in store walks out and then asks you for a couple bucks for McDonald's. The homeless guy that took your $2 or whatever amount does not go to McDonalds ............So Whit's gets a 1 star rating because the homeless guy you could have said NO to did not order a Big Mac in your allotted timeframe . Sounds legit to me LMAO That's why I read the reviews and not just go on star ratings.

Local visited same time as us. Owner knew him and when owner vocalized that we had cash. The guy stepped outside and waited on us to leave. Local came up to me with sad story about being homeless and needing some food. If I could spare some cash. Gave him a few dollars and we continued in opposite directions. He supposedly heading towards McDonald's. Passed him again on our way leaving and he hurriedly stated he was gonna go to McDonald's after he talked to a friend. Yeah, we were scammed. Beware.
