Southern Ground Coffee Shop

I’m from MD, stopped in for coffee and bagels for the ride home. Upon entering, there are 5 ladies with a fussy baby at the front of the store selling a few boxes of jewelry. It was weird and disturbing the peace at the coffee. Then I ordered a mocha which didn’t taste like a coffee with chocolate it tasted like pure sugar. Next my bagel order was simply double toasted everything with plain cream cheese. Well, I was given a warmed bagel with cream cheese in a little to go container. When I asked for the bagels to be toasted again the staff gave eachother looks and rolled eyes as if I was asking for them to make the bagels by hand from scratch!!??!! I said to the girls that I should be able to get what I asked for since I paid, they mumbled under their breath and I asked why the looks? No response. Then I was given a choice between cash or charge with a two dollar surplus for charge card. Needless to say the cream cheese was blah. Don’t take a detour off 795 to come here. You’ll be disappointed.

The young lady presented herself as she did not want to be there and a chore to take orders. Coffee was to milky, beautiful comfortable sitting area.

We need a small space for a meeting and Southern Ground stepped up big time. They cleared a room, helped us maintain privacy, plus provided coffee and snacks. They were phenomenal to work with from the moment I asked if we could use their conference room. It was a super easy, large impact experience. The staff was amazing and my team was able to arrive early and get some work done. Huge thank you to them for welcoming us with such southern warmth and grace.

TL;DR If you like southern chic come for the coffee, stay for the style and other caffeine/food option. It is worth the stop!

I am not a big of the southern style, but this place feels like how you wish your southern family members house looked like. I ordered a (nothing special) double espresso that turned out to be a triple by accident *oh no*. The amount of speciality drinks made it a good stop if you are out on this part of town.

Southern Ground is an amazing business! I spilled my drink in my car, came back to pay for a new one, and they gave me the drink for free. It made me tear up and definitely made my day, for sure!! Thank you guys so much for what you do. As a UMO student myself, I will be choosing Southern Ground over Starbucks any day when I need a pick-me-up for school. Once again, you guys are FANTASTIC! Thank you! ❤️

16oz cappuccino is almost triple the size of standard cappuccino. Ended up tasking like a hot milk drink with a little espresso taste. Would rather have quality over quantity, i.e.
correct ratio of milk to espresso. Especially if I’m getting charged over $5 for the drink.
