Unfortunately, we've tried this place several times and have never left happy. The staff are typically very polite (only one bad experience, several months ago) so we don't have any true complaints there. But the atmosphere and food are very inauthentic. The rice is very dry, as if it has set in a warmer for way too long; I don't eat refried beans but my husband has commented several times that they're terrible; the salsa varies between too bland or way too spicy. My family of 4 usually ends up leaving with about half of our food in to-go boxes for our puppy. I hate leaving negative reviews but the food is just not good here, in my humble opinion.

I I ordered two burritos with beef and got chicken, after the initial order, our waitress left us to ourselves for the remainder of our stay, we had to stop others, to help us…but she stayed and tended to the group of guys across from us

My partner and I stopped for a taco salad with ground beef. It in fact was not a taco salad as it should be it was more or less like soup. It was completely inedible. So I informed waitress that I would be happy to pay for the drinks. The server was most apologetic. The beef was grey, my taco shell was actual disintegrated , from all the cloudy water that my salad floated inWheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp but the layout would be impossible to navigate

It was my 1st. visit to this restaurant,stopped after work for take-out order. They were preparing to close so I can’t rate the atmosphere there, however it was clean with a very nice ambience. The staff is friendly & thoughtful, my order was readily prepared, I was quite impressed with the quality ingredients, along with how delicious the food is. There is a Mexican style restaurant located in in the same plaza as where I’m working called El Manzanillo which is fair & conveniently located to me but honestly, I will gladly drive the ten minutes to El Maguey from now on.
So we sat for more than 30 minutes. Chips & salsa only. Our waitress took our drink order and wrote it all down and then 10 min later (now 40 min in) another lady joined her to figure out our order. (It was a beer, waters & 2 margaritas) we got the two margaritas 15 minutes later but our friend never got her beer and we never got waters and our waitress never came back to take our order either. We gave up and left. It was sad. We have had a nice meals there last Dec-may23 but we were really disappointed and won't go back.

First time. We went for lunch. We both got the Lunch Chimichanga with shredded beef. It was the best. A little small but delicious. And there's NO fat in the beef. A few hours from home but we'll definitely come back.

It was great, whole family loved their food and one of the ladies at the bar even won my 3y/o a toy out of a claw machine. Definitely gonna go back. Fair warning they close at 9!
We read the negative reviews but also plenty of positive reviews, so we figured the food must be edible and gave it a try. Bad decision. We had to wait forever to get seated, and after a long time someone took our order. I got veggie plate #1 which was a tostada and enchilada. Husband got flautas. We waited and waited, including for our beverages. Eventually the food came and it wasn't even warm. The tostada was a soggy wet pile of mush. It is supposed to be crispy on the bottom so you can pick it up like toast if you want. Husband's meal was burnt. After asking 3 or 4 times we eventually got beverages at the end of our visit so we didn't have anything to wash the slop down with. We were done eating what we could, which was hardly anything. We were there about an hour. We will never go back.

On a lunch date with my husband, our regular restaurant was full so we decided to give this place a chance. 1st and last time. The hostess sat us down and brought us our chips and we sat and wait for someone to come take our drink order for 15 mins (mind you this place was not busy at all aside for 1 table that had maybe 6 people and a few other tables the place was pretty much empty) we weren’t acknowledged by passing waiters. When another couple was seated at the table across from us, and their drink order was taken immediately we got up and left. If this is the type of lazy I’ll serve who I want when I want services your provide in your restaurant, you won’t last to much longer
