First timer - Dinner for 6 - service was great but a little slow, atmosphere was good, food was average; soups and salad were very good. Observing tables it seemed as locals favor sandwiches, burgers and fish & ships, which the menu options suggest it too. Steaks were tasty, but surprisingly the sirloins was more tender than fillets (ran out of ribeyes, so no opinion on it). If Interpreting Chophouse as “a name”, expectations can be set right and have a good to better experience. If setting expectation on a “steak house” might be disappointing.

This restaurant sruggles with seating arrangements. We had a reservation for 6pm got there 5:45pm. People coming in after us filling up the foyer, all for 6pm. Their taking names as they come in and bumping it against the reservation list. They did have a large table that was homesteading for 2 hours which held things up. So you make a reservation they assign you a table in the layout. If you come in first for a 6 pm reservation and theirs 10 reservations for 6pm you might be the last one seated because your specific table is not open yet. We had a man and wife come in 10 minutes after us that was a 6pm reservation also, knew him by name that was sat at a four top table while we stood there. Then stuck us in a booth. Needless to say wasn't happy. If I come in for a reservation first for a 6pm reservation you put me at the top of the list for a 4 top table you don't make that group wait. Then the next group gets seated. The food was good, their house wine is good. Service was adequate, had to ask for things twice. We talked to the manager about this she seemed receptive up front but could tell she didn't like what we were telling her. So I've have eaten at lots of restaurants in my 70 years. And always made comments were needed for a restaurant to better themselves in service or food. It's to their advantage to listen to what people have to say when they want local establishments to succeed might not be the case here.

Amazing service from Mr Shamool ! Was extremely knowledgeable and gave some wonderful recommendations. The beef Wellington was the best I’ve ever had and I will certainly be back. Also a honorable mention the dark chocolate cherry bread pudding was phenomenal.

The food was great, the staff was great. We held a woman ministry Christmas party here yesterday. The food quickly came out and the waitresses were on top of things at all time. Very good experience

We went to their Thanksgiving dinner and were very happy with the entire meal. The restaurant was packed but the service did not suffer. We were seated 10 minutes before our reservation time, we were allowed plenty of time to read the offerings, and were not rushed through our dinner. We had prime rib with mashed potatoes, grilled mushrooms and onions, and green beans. Dessert was chocolate bread pudding with cherries. Each dish was prepared accurately and were delicious.

When I went there for Thanksgiving, I ordered the lobster bisque. It was cold and the lobster tasted like chewing plastic. We had to ask for cutlery and their food was cold and have me severe food poisoning. The waitress was very unhelpful. You couldn't threaten me with anything that would make me wanna come back here.
Our family's is spending our first year in Murphys North Carolina and we checked this place out, it was awesome so we decided to go back. we were not disappointed at all. we intend to eat there again next year. food and service both times was great!

We celebrated our Anniversary with dinner at the Murphy Chophouse. Our first visit and it was wonderful. Food was delicious and service was incredible. Our server, Gosselin, was great at answering our questions and helping with decisions. I highly recommend this restaurant.
