We were staying in Andrews, NC for the weekend and looking for something fun to do when we discovered this vineyard—and I’m so glad we did. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we had great conversations while sampling his amazing wines. The venue also offers fun yard games like cornhole and frisbee, which added to the relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. We spent time playing pool, laughing, and making memories with family. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun and laid-back activity for couples or a small group.
Great place to relax in the mountains and enjoy some wine. Owners are fantastic and very courteous. Lots to do on the property. Highly recommend stopping by Valley River Vineyards. Also John offered us free firewood but we forgot it.
We had a great time here! The wine was great and John and Elaine were great! Very loving people who want you to have a great experience! You have to check this place out!
The best winery experience
This is a must stop in the Murphy area! Elaine and John the owners are exceptionally nice. It's so nice to see a very small winery with all their passion for the fruits of their labor. And thier wines are exceptional!! I'm telling you, it is worth driving out because of the beauty of the area and the wonderful owners.
Try thier Gambler and Blackberry before it sells out because it's the best I've ever tasted!
A great out of the way vinyard with unique blends of wines we had never tasted before. The manager is very personable and down to earth. John has a stylized vision on wine blends that are worth your time. i.e. mixing peppercorners with his grapes. I hear he’s a great chef as well.
This is just a great place to go if you want wine made on site, and even beers on tap for non wine drinkers. A cozy covered wine bar as well as outdoor seating. A disc golf course, darts, corn hole, or take a stroll along the creek. They even have campsites and RV hook up spots. The owners are friendly, informative, and just real nice people. They make you feel welcome in the homey, seren and picturesque environment. The wines are good as are the beers on tap, with generous pours. If you haven't tried this winery yet you're missing out. Try them, you won't be dissapointed.
Wonderful service and delightful stop on the way to the casino. Good wine (ask John to make you a Moscato) and delightful people. Elaine was wonderful and made my birthday very special. Wonderful gem in the area- we WILL be back! Oh - and they serve beer too! My non-wine drinking husband appreciated this. It was not hot even though it was a 94 degree day. Fans and shade made a lovely July afternoon.
We were on vacation in the Murphy NC area and found this place. Such a fun environment and great people. We went there with kids and a dog, everyone had such a great time and the owners were so accommodating. The wine was amazing and they also had some beers on tap. Our kids played Frisbee golf and fished while the adults enjoyed the wine. It was a great day and I highly recommend going to check this place out!
Wonderful place. Peaceful and relaxing. Great wine and also few select beer on tap. Owners are amazing and make you feel like family. If you're looking for a place to relax, have a few drinks, and have some really good conversation with some family oriented people..... This is the place. Through conversations, there is a lot more fun and interesting things to come in the future. Amazing experience.

Good winery, good people and a pleasure to sit down with!
Arrived at 1:56pm and it was not opened
My wife and I came here on May 30 2025 it was totally amazing must come for sure.
Great couple, John and Elaine; they offer superb Southern hospitality at their vineyard. There’s more to this place than fine wine. You can tent camp or bring your RV or if you don’t own either, you can rent two different on site cabins. The 32 acres offers 5 acres in grapes, peaches, and blackberries. There’s a couple of ponds and a flowing creek that you’re welcome to walk near and explore. There’s also a nice open/enclosed pavilion with a beer and wine bar, pool table and music 🎶. When the weather is cool, enjoy a couple of fire pits, outdoor heaters and plenty of seating. You can even rent this space for events. Make plans to come out and have a good time this 4th of July.
We had a GREAT time and wound up spending a little over 4 hours at the winery. We really enjoyed getting to know the owners and they didn't mind telling us all about their business and showing us around and even requested our opinions for improvement since they are in the process of opening this area as a venue as well. They are more than just a winery! Incredibly personable, down to earth people and dang good wine makers.
