The service and Christmas decor were great. The food was inedible. I had the scallop carbonara. I've never seen a scallop cooked to destruction the way my scallops were cooked. Way, way beyond rubber. The dish was not carbonara... everything was simply smothered in a super salty Parmesan cheese sauce. Others in my party were not happy with their meals. The serving staff was very nice. The Christmas decorations were really beyond.

We went here for the thanksgiving buffet. The food was really good and there were plenty of choices. The servers in the buffet line were very pleasant and we enjoyed being served by them. Our server was wonderful. She was very attentive and we never needed anything as she was always ahead of having our plates removed and our glasses of tea filled. She had a great personality. I commend the management for the great staff especially for Thanksgiving day when they were more than swamped with guests. Everyone did a wonderful job in making you feel very welcomed. Please visit this restaurant for great food and service.

WORST FOOD EVER!!! We visited the Outer Banks for Thanksgiving and noticed a lot of cars at this restaurant so we thought we'd give it a try. BIG MISTAKE! They must have been the only place open for a Thanksgiving meal. They charged $46 per person plus an additional charge for using your credit card. You could not order from the menu. We had to stand in line with plate in hand for the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant!! It was so bad that our son ate NONE of his. We left and found a convenience store open where we loaded up on snacks.

2-years ago - Consistently good food from this local favorite. The Turkey Dinner is highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (photo Proof of Previous Post/Recommendation)

Update - Thanksgiving 2025 ⭐️

FOOD: Super disappointed. Each year since going to the buffet the food has gotten worse. What is normally the best thing about Basnight's - the Turkey - was 0/10. Mashed potatoes 5/10. Sweet potatoes 7/10. Stuffing 7/10. Gravy 6/10. Brussels sprouts 8/10. Baked local fish (flounder) 8/10. Blackened local fish (drum) 3/10. Fried oysters 7/10. Prime rib 7/10. Fried shrimp 9/10. Butter beans 9/10. Cornbread 10/10. Cranberry sauce 10/10.

SERVICE: Server (Dalton) 10/10, Hostesses 10/10, Buffet staff 10/10 - though it was clear they were NOT adequately trained or supervised. I'm just grateful they were willing and able to work - and they were friendly. The issue was, once again (this year) the utensils they were given to serve with - and portions/portion control.

No way it was worth $50/person with food of this quality.

OTHER: Buffet lines were chaotic - though they did move quickly! 8.5/10. Drinks 10/10. Parking 8.5/10 - it's all about timing, be there 20 min early. Dining room temp 8/10. Cleanliness 10/10.

RECOMMEMDATIONS: Prix fixe menu. Three Apps (shrimp cocktail, crab soup, mini ceasar). Three entres (roast turkey, flounder, flank steak), Two starch (mashed potatoes, rice), Two veg (grilled brussels or carrots), Three deserts (triple chocolate cake, new york cheesecake, banana pudding).

Regular Entre Portion - $35
Large Entre Portion - $40
plus 20% Thanksgiving Gratuity

Would love to bring the family back in 2026. Please sort this out.
