The Lone Cedar has a beautiful and comfortable coastal interior and a menu with a variety of delicious items. I love the daily specials. Ricky and Lucy, the osprey in the osprey nest outside, provided great dinnertime entertainment. It's definitely a place which deserves a return visit!

The best service, food, and atmosphere. There was live music in the bar area, we thought we wanted to sit in there until we did and it was just too loud for us. They gladly moved us to the best seat in the restaurant where we were able to watch Lucy and Ricky! Best dinner around!

We have eaten at Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe for many, many years. Tonight we had the pleasure of being one of the first customers at the opening for the 2024 season. The hostess that greeted us was friendly and most attentive. After being seated, the waitress by the name of Maggie D. greeted us. Her warm smile and friendly attitude made us feel quite welcome. During the entire meal experience, Maggie D. was most attentive to our every need. Not only did we have a delicious meal, we had a first class waitress experience. Basnight's Lone Cedar food is top notch and they should be very proud to have someone like Maggie D. represent their fine restaurant.

Got takeout for a big order. Everything packaged nicely and no missing items. One item was clearly made with expired crab. We called and they offered a gift card to the restaurant if we brought the entree physically back to the restaurant. We actually did go back but like ?The food was mid! Maybe try dining in.

We've been coming to Lone Cedar for well over ten years. It's always been hit or miss here but last nights meal hit a new low!I can honestly say it was the worst dining experience I've ever had on the Outer Banks. Perhaps anywhere for that matter. The food that we ordered was all inedible. The sushi was a complete joke. They shouldn't even try to make sushi when they cant even get seafood right. The She Crab Soup that they rave so much about turned out to be a warm bowl of wet flour with no crab meat in it whatsoever (but plenty of shells). I ordered Flounder fried crispy. What came out of the kitchen resembled a burned roof shingle. My slaw was horrific. The cocktail we ordered was disgusting. Virtually everything we ordered was just awefull.Even worse the service was just disgraceful. The bar keeper ignored us for lengthy periods of time, just getting a glass of water took ten minutes. I would have enjoyed lighting $175 on fire and watching it burn, more than the 90 minutes we spent being ignored at the bar.I'll never come back here again. If you are looking for a good meal on OBX don't come here. You can get better food at Five Guys

Thanksgiving Brunch with friends. Over the top delicious buffet with thanksgiving standards plus a delicious array of seafood artfully prepared, prime rib, and a huge selection of desserts. A true feast!Very crowded. An elderly member of our party had difficulty snaking between tables and packed hallway to get to stand in buffet line and back even with assistance.

I decided to stop by with my wife and two children for the Thanksgiving buffet. We had no idea that after the meal we would be presented a bill for $165. After a 20% tip, the total was $195. There was no posting anywhere inside the restaurant about the price that would be charged for the buffet. I am sorry that I stopped by this business that is obviously run by unethical and immoral individuals. To price gouge families on vacation with very little options available for dinner is a horrible way to do business. I understand that my review will not stop these individuals. However, I hope that others will learn from my mistake and fully research an establishment before giving them your business.

My family and I dined here on our annual trip to the Outer Banks on the recommendation of my uncle who had visited before. We were not disappointed! The restaurant and views were beautiful, we were seated quickly and had plenty of space, and the service was superb. I had my young children with me, and our server was very kind and patient with them. The food was delicious and super fresh; I had the red drum and it was amazing! We will definitely be returning!Dietary restrictions: My mom has severe Alpha Gal, to the point where she has an anaphylactic reaction even with a very small exposure. Our server listened intently and accommodated her, and she said her meal was delicious as well.

It had been a long time since I had stopped here to eat. But I must say that the food was great and our waitress was wonderful. We always eat early because I don't like crowds. So it was peaceful and the table we had sitting over the sound made for beautiful views. Would definitely recommend anyone to come in and eat!Wheelchair accessibility: They had handicap parking close to the entrance with a nice ramp to the restaurant

Waitress was very friendly, but never asked how everything was. Seated immediately (off season). Chocolate martini very disappointing, glass not chilled. Too much Low quality chocolate syrup to hide fact that there was very little if any Bailey's Irish cream, vodka, or chocolate liqueur.Only drank 1/4 of it, which is something new for me. I should have sent it back so that's on me. Pork bites were drowned in BBQ sauce that tasted like sauce from a bottle with extra burnt sugar added, no spice to it, three pieces burned, tried to scrape off a lot of the sauce. Fish tacos were wet, fish was wet on taco, no crunch ,taco shell itself was wet, two kinds of weird sauces on it, which added to squishy consistency and not the favor, zero fresh ingredients . The shrimp pasta had bland flavor, nothing fresh, and sauce tasted like it was from a jar, no onion, garlic, just the same pink color throughout except for a few pieces of spinach, the cheese on top of pasta dish looked like the powdered parmesan stuff in a green jar I keep in my fridge. couldn't eat garlic bread, saturated in butter. Nice ambiance, water view. Beautiful Christmas tree. Hostess was alone in lobby as we exited, never said goodbye, happy holidays or any sort of pleasantries as we left, and we were the only ones in the lobby. I try to support local business,,, but felt very unsupported this evening. Won't be back for a long time.
