Fatboyz Ice Cream & Sweet Treats

We arrived at Fatboyz and stood in line at 9:38 and got to the order window at 9:52. The employees (all teenagers) refused to come to the window to take our order because it was close to their closing time (10pm). I asked one employee if they were done taking orders and his response was “I don’t know how to work the register!” That didn’t even answer my question. At 10:04 I was finally able to wave over the girl that has been taking orders at the window and asked her if they were done taking orders, and with an attitude she said “We told a group in line we were not taking orders after them and asked them to tell others.” It is NOT a customers responsibility to tell people that show up after them that the business is no longer taking orders. The family that said that said they were told that before 9:30. Another customer waiting in line asked another girl that was working the pick-up window if they were no longer taking orders and her response was “I don’t know, I don’t work here. I just came in to help a friend.” She was working a soft serve machine and handing orders out of the pick up window to customers and wasn’t wearing any food service nitrile gloves like some of the other employees were wearing. I’m pretty sure this would affect their sanitation grade that they legally have to post here in NC. I guess they should prepare for a specialized inspection for violation of food service laws NC has in place. Owners need to make sure their employees are comfortable handling large crowds of people. They were clearly afraid to communicate to their customers which is why they asked customers standing in line to communicate things to other customers and avoided the order window until it was after their closing time. You don’t turn away customers before your closing time just because you want to end your night early. They ignored over 20 people that were standing in line for over 20 minutes. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone that has any concerns of food safety as they clearly don’t follow those laws. I also wouldn’t recommend showing up after 9:30pm because they clearly want to be done with their night as soon as they can after their advertised closing time of 10pm.

This evening just ordered chocolate soft serve cones. When handed to us and turned around to walk down the steps, the ice cream ran off the cones down our hands. We had a roll of paper towels in our vehicle and we had to use them to wipe our hands from the drips. If there was something wrong with the soft serve machine making this happen, then why wasn't a cup suggested? We are senior citizens and I feel sorry for a parent ordering a cone for a child and getting a horrible mess! Will never return there!

Service was horrendous, and we were the only people in the store. Will never ho back.

Worst experience ever…. Employees were very rude we waited 30 minutes in line then got turned away at the window. They said they still had orders to make & needed to close at 9:00. Where I come from you wait on every customer that’s in line before closing time it was 8:55 when we were turned away along with about 20 other people!!!

I can confirm that this place does not follow by its posted hours. Tried to go by last night around 815 and it was a ghost town. I suggest going north to another local establishment that had excellent customer service and fantastic product.

Waited 35 minutes for 3 single scoops of ice cream and numbers after us got served before us. Ordered 3 single scoops cups. One was double the volume of the other two and one clearly was the last half scoop of the container.

Mint chocolate chip tasted artificial, very reminiscent of crest toothpaste. There were tons of sick kids around coughing on everyone at 9:15 pm.

Most beautiful ice cream I ever tasted

I'm only giving 2 stars because the young girl at the counter was sweet as can be. This place is nothing like it was back in 2006 til 2014. I always stayed at owens and would walk over to get the best icecream around... not anymore. My cookie dough flurry was gross. It had vanilla icecream with cookie dough the auctual size of cookies just thrown in. When we got our icecream my other half had ordered a cookie milkshake but they handed us what seemed to be an M&M flurry. Silly mistake however I was less than impressed and super bummed I couldn't show off the greatness of that place to my other half and my son. Also, I'm pretty sure there was no actual food, just icecream now. I never saw a food menu.

Literally the worst experience. Trashy trash trash. Took us 45 minutes to get an ice cream order and they forgot half of it. Awful.

There was a long line but it moved fast. They had a nice selection of flavors. My cookies and cream waffle cone was delicious.

We ordered 3 single scoops in cup, 1 double scoop in a cup. Paid our bill , waited in a very long line and when our order came they said we only paid for 2 single scoops and 1 double scoop. Asked for clarification for what I paid for and they walked away from me. If the girl taking orders wasn’t on her phone maybe she could have done her job and not messed up the 4 orders in front of ours.
