We decided to try this restaurant for breakfast. Our waitress, Julia, was very efficient but not very friendly at first. By the time we left, we managed to get a smile out of her.

Best grits you will ever eat, and the biscuits are huge, flakey, buttery goodness. I ordered the southwestern omelette and it was enough to feed two adults. It was so good. My husband ordered SOS on one of their huge biscuits. They let him sample the creamed chipped beef before he ordered, which was extremely nice of them. We will definitely be returning the next time we visit Nags Head.

However, the service was not pleasant at all. From the management to the server. I am not one to quickly jump to a conclusion concerning race, but we definitely felt unwelcome and we were treated differently than the other guests.
My family and close friends travel to OBX quite often. Unfortunately, this was the same experience the last time we visited this establishment. Was it because we were an interracial couple? I hope not. But my wife and I couldn’t help but leave with a sense of that reality.

It was okay. The waffle was primo yummy. The flies were awful - like there was a dead body in the back. I literally counted 5 on the back of the wall. But, they were open, fast service and again, I'd go back for a waffle and hopefully they can figure out the flies before my next visit!!
