Horrible service waitress was rude threw the checks on our table because we asked for it to be split and then told us they couldn’t be split at all because the system wouldn’t allow her to split it definitely not going back!!!!

Reply for the owner….their was no need to edit your original reply you should have left it up here but I guess since you figured out that the way u originally replied was far from professional u decided to edit your original reply and take off the part where you clearly stated “why Didn’t We just leave” just like my cousin also left a review up here and u replied the exact same thing to her than went back and edited your original response so people wouldn’t see the things u said!!!! And now u have edited your response once more on what u responded on my review and deleted or blocked my cousins review so it no longer shows up in here but long story short we were in no way rude to the manager nor the waitress we kindly asked for 3 dishes from our party group to be returned because they did not like it and yes yall did not charge us for those 3 meals that were returned but only for those 3 not for all of our first meals like u stated in your first response!!!!! Either way in my opinion things could have been handled differently!!!

bad service and waiter she was kind at first
very rude when time to pay she threw our check on table just for asking to split bill we were being very kind and honest with her. She didn’t have to do all that.

My family stopped for breakfast on a Friday morning around 1000 am. The cafe was more than half full. We ordered breakfast and coffee plus tea. The coffee and tea arrived first. The Americano was lukewarm and not very good. The Cappuccino was also below average. Only drip coffee was good. Considering the cafe advertise house single origin house blend, roasted daily, the coffee was not good.
As the brewed coffee is ok and espresso based coffee drinks not so, the method to prepare espresso should be looked at.
The Even McDonald's serves much better coffee.
The lobster and crab omelet was very good. The French toast combo was delicious, and so was the avocado toast.
If only the owners can improve their coffee bar, it can be a 5 star dining experience.

Very good food with just as good service. They can be a little slow but I think that’s just because they were busy. I would recommend.

We’ve eaten there the last two mornings and both meals were excellent. The pancakes are the bomb and the fresh squeezed orange juice is to die for. Marisol was helpful and friendly. We ate outside with our dogs and loved the breeze and the sun. Highly recommend!

Went here for breakfast, ordered two lattes, tasted very very bad. The omelet was really good, chicken and waffles were very sweet, almost too sweet but overall pretty good. Waiter was very nice.

We decided to venture out in search of breakfast and stumbled upon the Nags Head Cafe, a charming spot that quickly caught our eye. Upon arrival, we were informed that the cafe is currently operating on a cash-only basis, a detail we were prepared for given the recent system-wide outages affecting many businesses.

We were promptly seated and ordered a coffee and a bottle of water. While I noticed some patrons have complained about the bottled water, I appreciated it, as I’m not a fan of the tap water in the Outer Banks. My daughter opted for a strawberry banana smoothie, which was a delightful treat.

For our meals, my daughter ordered the chocolate chip pancakes, but she quickly shifted her focus to my wife’s Monte Cristo sandwich after tasting it—proof of its deliciousness! I opted for the breakfast quesadilla served with potatoes, which was excellent and flavorful.

My only minor complaint was how the quesadilla was served directly on top of my potatoes in a basket. I prefer to douse my potatoes in ketchup, and this presentation made it tricky without risking my quesadilla getting messy. However, when I requested a plate from our server, she promptly provided one—though I was surprised to see a $2.50 charge for the extra plate on my bill. It struck me as a bit unusual, but it's their restaurant, after all.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Nags Head Cafe and will certainly return. Next time, though, I’ll skip the plate request! If you're visiting the OBX, this place is worth a stop.

We decided to give this local place a try. We steer clear of chain restaurants when we visit. We very much enjoyed it and are glad we stopped in. The monte cristo sandwich was wonderful. We will be back.

Wheelchair accessibility: My mother uses a walker and their ramp was accessible and not too steep.

I’d highly recommend going anywhere other than this restaurant. We ordered 2 breakfast entrees & 2 coffees (the $4 black coffee & the barely 8oz $6.50 specialty coffee were horrible) we ended up not drinking anything since they do not offer water in a glass. It was about $40 for a basic breakfast but after seeing how the owner treats people that didn’t have a good experience here, I wish there was an option to give a 0 star review. By far one of the rudest people I have ever encountered definitely a keyboard bully. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years & had my fair share of rudeness but nothing like this, calling their customers out of their name, making absurd accusations & being completely unprofessional simply because someone didn’t give a 5 star rating. The owner has a horrible attitude towards anyone that disagrees with them. I’m all about supporting a small business but we regret spending any money at Nags Head Cafe.

We only had breakfast, but several times. They have the absolute best fried potatoes!! Pancakes are very good along with their biscuits. Only complaint would be that they only serve bottle water.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp.
