On a late September Saturday afternoon, I stopped in for lunch and ordered the “Better Burger.” What I received was a no-nonsense burger, cooked to order and topped with fresh lettuce, onion, and tomato. It was easily one of the best burgers I’ve had on the Outer Banks. Served alongside crisp, flavorful French fries, it made for the perfect lunch.
Sam and Omie’s is one of the oldest and most well-established restaurants in this part of the Outer Banks. Their menu covers everything from hearty breakfasts to fresh seafood dinners. But if you’re simply in the mood for a classic, satisfying burger, don’t overlook this legendary landmark.

This used to be an awesome place to eat while visiting the OBX. But, over the years it has gone down hill soooo much.
My review is similar to all the other negative reviews, horrible service and just average to below average food. All the servers just stood around and talked with themselves instead of focusing on the paying customers. Too many other awesome places on the OBX to choose from.

Been coming here for over 20 years. We were seated and waited for over 15 minutes. No server came by. We ended up leaving. Disappointing but the food is good.
Good place for simple, honest food. Very much a local staple

Totally packed for dinner. Hardly any seating for couples. Mostly a family(4+) dining area unless you sit at the bar, which would've been fine if they put subtitles on the TV so you'd know what was going on, which was kinda frustrating, cause it was an episode of Big Bang Theory.
Had the grilled marinated tuna dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans, cornbread and an extra cup of crab soup.
Tune was bland, and tasted as if it wasn't marinated at all, or with very weak ingredients.
Green beans tasted like they were from a can.
Crab in crab soup was imitation crab. For $8 a cup you'd think they'd use real crab.
Cornbread wasnt cornbread. It was fluffy like a cake and tasted like the Jiffy box you buy in the store.
I was surprised with how fast the food came out because I suspect they rely heavily on a microwave to do most of the cooking. Not accusing anyone of anything but the food came out very fast for how busy it was.

Good food, fast service and cool atmosphere. Get there early as the wait was 45mins. But a lot of people live to come there because of the atmosphere and the bar. Breakfast served until 11am. Then lunch starts at 11:30.

The menu online does not match the menu in the restaurant, so prices were higher. Service was not the best, which we hardly got service. Food was okay.

Great smaller place with lots of locals. Food was good as was the service. Nice change from the huge beach restaurants.
